COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep in the heart of the Lager capital of Germany comes a most intriguing Ale. This wheat beer is fermented with American Kolsh yeast and served unfiltered to halter the splendor of flavors. This darling of the industry is often served with a slice of lemon to complement the mild and refreshing acidity of these beers.

Tap at the brewpub. Rating #9. Hazy yellow pour with a white head. Strange aroma, wheat seems to be the them. Flavor was weird as well, the kolsch yeast certainly makes a difference, not something I’m really in favor off, but not that bad, just not what I want in a hef. (1492)

On tap; cloudy, dull goldish color. Aroma was light and wheaty. Flavor was very wheaty with not much else (banana, yeast or spice). That being said, it was still ok tasting.

Cloudy dull tan. Footy, wheaty nose. Some spicy character. Light wheaty finish. Quick and bland, just like my rating.

Hazy, unfiltered but served too cold and no head. So chilled that nose is weak until it warms. Not so yeasty-smelling, only slight hints of banana. Quite a thin example, but quaff-friendly soft mouthfeel. A take it or leave it.

On tap at Mainstreet. Slightly hazy dark yellow with no head. Malty yeasty aroma. Bready malty taste with a hint of banana.

Tap@brewery. Golden, clear with white head that took a vacation and didn’t leave anything behind. The most common beer I see pitchers of, besides coors and bud light. Light body, nice carb, lightly dry. Flavor is mild, earthy, "generic beer flavor," lightly wheaty, drinkable. Improves with lemon. My girl put salt in it...so I salted mine...kind of picked it up a bit. Blande, generic.

microdyke (360) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 19, 2003
A dark golden honey color with a light white lacing head. A wheat and slightly bready aroma with some citrus. The flavors are of grapefruit and a yeasty wheat. Nothing amazing.

Light, pale, cloudy, well carbonated. Clean malty aroma and flavor. Some spiciness towards the end but remaining mild overall. I can see where this might be a cross between a Kolsch and a Heffy. Mild hoppy bite in the finish and underlying citrus. I could classify this as a German Wheat.
