This is a member of the sweet Stout category that traces its roots back to mild Ales that were brewed with a portion of oatmeal to cut the green beer harshness. This stout is very smooth and slightly sweeter with a relatively high alcoholic content. The roasted malts and smooth creamy texture makes for a clean finish. This Beer also was awarded a Bronze Medal at the California State Fair.

This stout pours with a black body topped by little head with some lacing. The aroma and flavor are sweet, very roasty, malty and heavy with coffee and a little chocolate. Full bodied, smooth and a little dry.

Initial yeasty aroma escapes the bottle before turning chocolaty. pasty oatmeal aroma noticeable as is high alchol content. Fairly high alcohol bite, blends well against silky oatmeal palate. Nice roasted chocolate at the end grips well into the aftertaste.
