Tap at California State Fair. They said it was over 2 years in the wood. Pours hazy dark gold with a huge creamy off-white head. Sour aroma. Medium plus body with coarse carbonation. Flavor is sour, oak and something like vanilla? Lambic fits this one.

Hophead22 (2394) - Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA - JAN 29, 2009
Sample from the "back" from Bob himself. Been aging in a 20 gallon barrel for 5+ years, he just keeps topping the barrel off when he drains some out. Poured somewhat of a straw color with light green tinge. Great aroma, slight sourness, very good aroma. Dry taste, with a little sourness in there, not overwhelming or puckering, but quite excellent.

GABF 2008. hmnn. I’m up for almost anything sour, but "Bob’s Old Woody" was a bit disturbing for a name. Thankfully, the beer was good enough to keep drinking. A dark amber color with a nice sour oak aroma. An interesting, if unintended sour butterscotch (diacytl?) flavor. Strong oak and vanilla in there as well.

CaptainCougar (6855) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - NOV 28, 2007
On tap at the 2007 GABF: Clear pale golden with a thin ring of white head. Aroma of complex oak and lightly sweet Belgian malt and mild diacetyl. Body starts with some earthy sweet caramel and a lot of buttery popcorn flavor. Diacetyl detracts somewhat from an otherwise nicely-balanced and complex brew.

Ratman197 (5944) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - OCT 15, 2007
On tap @ 2007 GABF poured a hazy gold with a small lasting white head. Aromas of barnyard, citrus, oak, light carmel and a hint of spice. Palate was light bodied crisp and tart. Flavors of vanilla, barnyard funk, citrus, oak and a hint of spice with a crisp lingering tart finish.
