Our wee heavy. A big malty brew with a beautiful deep red color. Brewed with english hops and a hint of smoke from tradditional scottish peat malt. Thas brew as shar t’bring ote da scotch inyah!

Sample of both the firkin and wild fermentation versions at the Big Tap In on 04/21/2012. Notes on the regular version. The beer pours a murky dark amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes quickly. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of smoke, malt and caramel. Medium do full body with a smoky character and flavors of dark malt and hops. The finish is smooth and leaves a charred malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

I would like just a bit more smoke flavor from this beer but thats just a personal preference. It was very good and certainly had a puch of alchohol. This is certainly a great beer for a scotch drinker on a break. With a little more smokyness I would have to give this beer top ratings on palate and aroma. This brew pub has surprized me with everything I have tried.

The stronger beer out of the eight I’ve had at the brewery. Quite alky strong initially, imparts an unexpected wallop, even for a 8+%. Aroma of slight sweet perfume, yes a bit stronger than I like. Decent CO2 and I think I’m getting a tad dizzy form this. The aroma of this stuff gives no hint of the taste. Malty fer sure, almost over the top maly but never quite gets there. A little medicinal on the finish but is still OK compared to most beers in this rude style.
