Pilot Foreign Extra Stout:
English Pale Malt
Belgian Candy Sugar
Falconer’s Flight & Columbus
A twist on an Old-World stout style. American hops yield citrus notes and Belgian candy sugar contributes subtle notes of molasses. Dark barley leaves espresso on the palate.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at Churchkey for the DC distribution launch of Maine Beer Co. Rich black pour with a light tan bubbly head. Nose and flavor bring lovely coffee grind bitterness, some definite caramel and slight plum sweetness from the candy sugar, and good hoppy bite from the alpha acids of the Columbus/Falconer’s Flight. Beautifully dry and well-attenuated, especially given the adjuncts. Very very good.

Draft. Dark maroon, almost black color, tan head. Aroma of burnt espresso and dark cocoa powder. Taste is Italian espresso and chocolate soda. Very nice.
