Dried out red fruit aroma with sarsaparilla and brown sugar. Whiffs of weak coffee. Certainly somewhat thin; it’s hard to find much malt depth immediately.

Streamlined dark malt flavor of bitter chocolate, grahams and bitter roots. The low density is appropriate, and the relatively high alcohol is unnoticeable even given that. It has what it should have and it’s well made.

One of the Better porters I have had. Really hoppy and smokey in flavor. Has a bitter aftertaste and smells chocolately. Had this one at home. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

1 pint .9oz bottle big thanks to Phatdog1. Poured an opaque black color with a frothy khaki head with massive lacing. Taste of oats, cocoa, roasted malt, smoke, and a slight hop finish. Thick body, medium carbonation. Cheers

A nice malty porter. Well colored and handsome. The head can be substantial if not poured carefully and a nice light brown color. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Courtesy of Archer Liquors, Chicago, Illinois, pour is a rich black color with a nice java head. Nose is malty and rich deep chocolate. Taste is malty., with heavy chocolate on the palate and nice even sweetness. This porter is full of flavor and delicious. Finishes on the same tasting notes. Excellent! ! Quaff Score 8 / 10

Pours a dark brown with a brown head and aroma of roasted malt. Taste is strong, nice deep roasted malt notes with rich chocolate and coffee leading to a smooth finish. Delicious porter with great flavor

On the Third Day of Christmas 2013 the beer gods gave to me . . . a tasty porter. Pours a dark black color with off white foam head. Aroma of roast, burnt chocolate and muted vanilla. Dry, sweet roasty taste with chocolate and caramel hints and some creamy vanilla underneath. A nice hop hit for balance and texture from the earthiness. Solid.

Dark almost black pour from bottle. Off white head. Cocoa and mild chocolate taste. Smooth as this style gets. Deliciously awesome

Black pour - lively carbonation that produces a thick, lasting tan head - aroma is roasty, medium sweet/caramelized sugars, moderate char, molasses, raisin, earthy/mushroomy malt - flavor is fairly sweet, but with a balancing acidity and black malt bitterness - mushroom, earthy/soil, moderate roast, bordering on char - late chocolate and dark bread (pumpernickel) - lingering acidity and bitterness - really good porter, but not worth the price.
