(500ml bottle) Pours an opaque black body with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, light coffee, and some lactose. Flavor of chocolate, roasted malt, earth, grass, and caramel with a dry finish.

50cl bottle. Large tan head atop cola black body. Aroma is moderately sweet, cocoa, some roast, grapefruit/earthy, light coffee. Taste is moderately sweet, cocoa, some earthy/grapefruit, coffee/roast. Medium body, light acidity, goes down quickly. IMO, this borders on an imperial porter.

Draft. Dark brownish maroon, tan head. Aroma of dark milk chocolate on a subtle pine background. Taste is smooth and rich coffee and chocolate. Tasty stuff.

Bottle shared by Dr Silverworm. Poured a dark brown color with an average frothy light brown head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate toasted sweet chocolate malt, hop and small alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted malt sweet flavor with a medium complex dark malt sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Solid complex brew.

Dark brown pour with an off-white head. Nose is roast, ash, and char. Somewhat chalky, a little bit of cocoa powder, coffee grounds, and a light acidity. Strong roasted malt and ash character to the flavor, too. Coffee grounds, dark chocolate, chalk, and a light bitterness. Minimal sweetness and a definite acidity.

A deep dark porter with a thick lacing dark brown head. In aroma, a nice rich chocolate malt with milk, coffee, toffee, very nice. In mouth, a smooth bitter chocolate with light caramel, coffee. grassy notes, nice. Bottle from Healthy Living, 5.99$, tasted Feb 8 2012.

Bottle at Sander’s place in NYC. Pours dark brown with a strong, tan foam head. Deep, dirty coffee on the nose, good roast. Medium sweet flavor, big and dark roasty malts, bittersweet cocoa. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Moderately sweet finish, robust cocoa, light burnt earthy bitterness, coffee. Great beer. Wonderful balance.

16 oz bottle courtesy of BeerandBlues2 ( thanks Brad!) poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lasting brown head. Aromas of milk chocolate, roasted malt and carmel. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, bitter chocolate and a hint of coffee with a smooth lingering bitter chocolate finish.

Bottle. Pours opaque black with a large, creamy and frothy tan head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is dark chocolate and roast malt with earthy coffee and hops, prunes and dates. Flavor is malt dominant with medium hops and bitterness, dark fruity esters, faint vanilla with a dry finish. Full body and medium carbonation.
