Bottled@vPBF III. More or less black colour, mediumsized brown head that leaves good lace. Aroma is chocolate, ashes, some liquorice and toffee. Flavour is ashy, roasted malts, some toffee and mild liquorice to it. Pleasant and quite easy to drink.

Opaque black - brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is light and airy and semi dry. Softish dark malts, very light roast. A little tangy. Touch of lactose. Trace of orangey fruits. Light semi dry finish. Pretty standard stuff and lacking the usual Maine fairy dust.

Black color with brownish head. Roasted malt aroma, lightly cheesy, some cardboard. Smooth mouthfeel, roasted malt flavor, some dark chocolate, light peppery touch and some liquorice; very moderate residual sweetness. Correct bitterness.
Well brewed, harmonious brew.

Bottle at Sander’s place in NYC. Pours dark brown with a strong, tan foam head. Deep, dirty coffee on the nose, good roast. Medium sweet flavor, big and dark roasty malts, bittersweet cocoa. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Moderately sweet finish, robust cocoa, light burnt earthy bitterness, coffee. Great beer. Wonderful balance.

50cl bottle. Large tan head atop cola black body. Aroma is moderately sweet, cocoa, some roast, grapefruit/earthy, light coffee. Taste is moderately sweet, cocoa, some earthy/grapefruit, coffee/roast. Medium body, light acidity, goes down quickly. IMO, this borders on an imperial porter.
