A nice nose, noticeable roasty malts right off the bat. It pours a dark, dark brown with a deep brown head. A lot of head on this pour because I had aged it about 6 months and I wanted to liven it up; I poured right into the glass and let it sit for about 10 minutes. It’s sweet in the initial taste, and you can really get the chocolate. It’s not thin, but not thick either; there isn’t much of a linger, which is kind of disappointing. It’s definitely a phenomenal porter, but it could have used a longer finish.

Bottle (born on January 18, 2013) thanks to bman1113vr. Dark black pour with foamy khaki head with excellent lacing. Nose is light ash, chocolate, earth, peanut, some cinnamon. Flavor is chocolate, light roast, some jerky, soy, with a bitter finish. Really nice porter. Dry finish.

2013 bottle. Pours with a black hued body and a large creamy brown head. Very nice lace.Aromas are of brown bread, floral, chocolate, low herbal hop, light resin, pine. Very clean fermentation. Flavors are roasty, toasty, very rich malt base, melanoidins, dry roast. Low herbal , very clean, slightly acidic dark roast. Creamy, full bodied, well hidden alcohol.

Dark as it gets, no hint of light through it. Pours a nice head then come down but never disappears. Good lacing. Taste is nice and malty. I get lots of chocolate, a bit of coffee, and a good amount of roasted goodness. Worth finding

Bottle pour. Matte black with beige head. No lacing. Handsome. Inviting aromas of dark chocolate, fresh brewed espresso, and mild wood chips. Creamy, yet chalky. Forward with roasted malts, rye bread and some hop zip on the back. Well crafted.

Damn, it is good. Thick dark brown malt body feels like velvet on the tongue. Smooth roast. Chocolate/cocoa, coffee, soft alcohol note and tinge of sourness in the finish.

500ml bottle pours deep black color with a generous light brown head that retains well and leaves some really nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is dark chocolate and toasted grains. Taste is a dark chocolate malty sweetness balanced nicely with a toasted grain and citrus hop bitterness. Medium to heavy body with good carbonation which teases the palate nicely. A very well done brew.

Bottled 13 May 2014. Opaque brown pour, ruby edges. Frothy mocha coloured head settles to a good covering. Aromas of roasted malts, coffee grinds, hops, dark chocolate, leathery, liquorice. Bitter, roasted flavours, resiny hops are there, too, dusty cocoa, dark chocolate, sweetness from the malts balancing things out nicely. Medium bodied, oily, slick mouthfeel, average carbonation. Bitter, dry finish. A really well put together porter; ticks all the boxes for me.

Bottle from CBX. Pours black with a frothy brown head. Big roasted malt aroma, dry bitter chocolate, earthiness and touches of coffee with light ash. Smooth body with reflective flavor with more chocolate coming through. Medium body and relaxes carbonation. Nice stuff.
