4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 PhatB420 (468) - Pittsfield, Massachusetts, USA - APR 5, 2013
16.9 into a stemmed glass. This is wonderful, aroma is herbal hoppy with inviting whiffs of pine, soil, weed, and malty satisfaction. Taste is all around organic soil, pleasant hops, grass, citrus and more pine. The malt rides high within the first encounter, but the the hops seem to meddle in perfectly to pronounce their stance, which is strong. Color is a dark brown orange. head is nicely covering the brew but leaves sufficent room to breathe. Abv is there, but not fully brutel. Goes downn eloquantly (sp), smooth, and measures in some winter spices. I consider this one an excellent hybrid of a dipa and a strong ale. more on the dipa side. Aromics are ipa strong but the malt man, that simmers in striaght up and alters this one. An excellent brew by an excellent brewery.
