Our “East Coast” version of a West Coast-style IPA. Intense hop flavors and aromas of tropical and citrus fruits and pine dominate. A subtle malt sweetness brings the beer into balance.

Bottle. Pours cloudy orange with a three finger, white frothy lasting head that leaves excellent lacing. aroma of pine, faint notes of peach, stronger floral notes and citrus. Lightly sweet, medium bitter, flavors of grapefruit and caramel, average to soft carbo, medium body, and a grassy lightly bitter finish. Not as well balanced and claimed.

Type: Pint bottle Glass: Figueroa Mountain pint glass From: Beer Advocate’s SteveB24 Price: N/A Purchased: N/A; Received on Feb. 7, 2015 Consumed: Feb. 7, 2015 Misc.: Bottled on Dec. 23, 2014 Thanks Steve! Poured a honey, orange, hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of rocky, white head. Calm setting underneath the top. Good, uneven, spiderweb lacing on the sides of the glass. Above average retention. (Sight - 4.13) Smelled a nice, potent whiff of flavorful hops. Got floral, Citra, Amarillo, resin and tropical. (Smell - 4.75) Taste wasn’t quite as good as the nose, but still good. Got floral, Amarillo, Simcoe, Citra, tropical, Centennial (I think), grapefruit juice, nectarine rind, mango, orange, faint pineapple and lemon zest. Very tasty. (Taste - 4.50) Medium body. Oily texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Long, slightly bitter finish. Somewhat refreshing. (Feel - 4.00) This was just a fantastic IPA. Would love to try this again. Great beer. Hoppy and malty aroma. More piney hops than citrusy. Taste is malty with a nice piney hoppiness. But it isn’t resiny piney hops. It is very balanced and nice. Generally I don’t like the more piney hop beers, but this one is so balanced with all the flavors it is quite enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

cereal, toast, citrus, leaves, orange, hazy, frothy, white foam, medium sweetness, lightly sour, light body, thin feel, average carbonation, long finish. This is the best IPA I ever had, its a true IPA with a splash of sunshine, or I could just have elated senses because the Patriots won Super Bowl XLIX. Woot! Woot!

Flight at tasting room Not blown away but decent IPA. Nice hazy orange pour- generous white head. Looks about perfect. Drinks clean with a nice but not overwhelming hoppy bitterness. Good mix of hops- Warrior, Amarillo, Centennial, Simcoe- lots of citrus and pine. Decent. Drinkable.

Fruit punch, herbal tea and caramel pretzel all in balance. Slightly doughy yet finishes clean. 7% alcohol goes down as smooth a session quaff. Fortunate to grab the last one off the shelf. Worth searching for, especially if you want to try something a little different.

bottle. slightly hazy gold under a large, foamy, white head. lemon/lime, pine hop aroma. nice and dry. a low amount of crystal, a little wheat flavor for some malt character. hops are bright and green. a very quality ipa, and one of the best you can find.

Nose is grainy malt, orange, lemon. Flavor follows, some pine joins in, soft orange rind. Really nice bitterness, crackery malt in the finish.

Marigold, grass, and grapefruit nose. Cloudy amber, firm yellow two finger head. Tangerine, grapefruit, and mango, but dry. Medium body, soft carbonation. Bitter grass finish. Very well hopped, fresh and clean. Not as balanced as I would expect from such a highly regarded beer. Delicious, though.

Hazy orange-golden pour with a big white head. Big pungent tropical fruit, strong grassiness and pine, moderate resin/dank, toasty/bready/nutty malt. Leans pretty hard to the hops in terms of balance, and is definitely more late addition fruity-hoppy as opposed to bitter.
