4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
From notes, consumed on 6/9/13. Bottle (dated 5/28/13) poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy caramel orange color with 4 fingers of frothy off-white head. Head fades slowly leaving great lacing. Good head retention. Aromas of citrus peel/rind, grapefruit, pine, white and tropical fruits. Tasting notes of pine, grapefruit, resin, caramel, malt, good balance of hops and bitterness. Medium body with a semi-dry finish.

Poured from 22 oz bottle. As soon as I cracked the bottle open I was hit in the nose with a big citrus aroma. I don’t know that I’ve experienced that before. Pours cloudy copper color with white head. Big hop forward flavor. Citrus and big grapefruit flavors. This is a very dry beer, no malt sweetness. Really nice beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Very aggressive hoppiness in this beer, with a very strong grapefruit hop presence. Very solid for an IPA, but could use a little more balance of malt to counter the hops.

A: A bit hazy amber/copper and has a really big strong head that has big bubbles and frothy.
S: Strong mango, super piney, citrus, maybe a little pineapple. A real nice smelling beer.
T: Strong citrus peel upfront with some grapefruit, resinious. Some malty nuttiness at the end.
M: Nice hop bite with a nice dryness thats not really sweet. Love it dry.
O: Really solid IPA too back this is one of the Maine beers we dont get. Could drink this weekly.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Wine Source. Pours hazy orange, nice white head with a ton of lacing. Aroma is fruity (pineapple, citrus) and hop heavy. Flavor is very well balanced, hop and malt, with more fruitiness coming through. Mouthfeel is very smooth, moderate carbonation, very slight bitterness to the finish. Perhaps the most drinkable 7% IPA I’ve ever had. The best offering I’ve had from Maine Beer Co.
