10/23/2013. 22 oz. bottle. Amber color with a thick off white head. Floral aromas with tropical fruit, pine. A hint of caramel, spicy hops and citrus. Very well balanced and the hoppy finish is just right. Awesome IPA.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
After long last I get to try a bottle, and even better, one that’s less than two weeks old. There’s a nice maltiness to this IPA and it’s very well rounded. Not too much sweetness, not too much bitterness, just the right amount of citrus. Leaves a bit of a bitter aftertaste however. not unexpected though.

Taster at the source. Pours yellow gold with a pure white lacy head. Aroma is grapefruit. Flavor follows nose with floral and grapefruit hop. Pale malt backbone. Bitter grapefruit peel finish.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
One of the most well balanced beers I have tasted. Hop bitterness is present but not overbearing, taste great, and the finish is smooth with out the after taste being overwhelmingly bitter like some IPA’s.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: OCT 18, 2013 Bottled 10/08/2013. Just about 4 days old. Clean golden body with a huge foamy white head that sticks around well. Nose is huge fresh pine, grapefruit, and more citrus. Tastes outstandingly balanced and smooth. All of the aromas find their way into the flavor, with a smooth yet crisp bitter finish with some fruity undertones. Great beer.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
From 10/11 notes. 500ml botle (9/10 batch) pours clear golden orange with almost 2 finger head. Leaves a nice fine layer of suds that never goes away. Nose is piney, lemon, orange zest, some subtle grapefruit notes, tropical fruit. Mouthfeel is round, carbonated, malty. Taste is bitter grassy, pine up front, fruity grapefruit, creamy orange notes on the end. Finish is fruity medium bitterness, balanced complexity. Lunch is a superbly balanced, expertly crafted IPA. Excellent.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottled September 10, 2013. HUGE thanks to Mark for delivering this long-time want of mine!
Pours semi-hazy orange amber with a two finger white head that settles to a small foamy cap but leaves some really nice drippy rings of lacing behind.
Aroma is grapefruit, pineapple, tropical fruits, piney, a little biscuit and caramel malt. Big citrus and tropical fruits dominate. Very good strength.
Flavor is bitter pine, grapefruit rind, tangerine, peach, some tropical fruits but not as much as in the nose, malt is a little more prevalent in the taste as well with some bready and caramel notes, very little sweetness, quite dry and bitter with a touch of alcohol on the finish.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, oily, good carbonation.
Excellent IPA. The aroma is fantastic!

Another great bottle (dated 9/10/13) sent/suggested by Lukaduke. Pours a lovely amber with substantial head that calms down quickly but doesn’t totally disappear -- nice. Description says "east coast version of a west coast IPA" and they nailed it. It’s hop-forward and super clean, you could easily put away a few if these. 2nd Maine Beer Co brew I’ve had this week and they are winning me over big time. My next cross-country trade can’t come soon enough!
