4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 ben4321 (2995) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - OCT 9, 2012
Location: .5 L bottle from Half Time, 10/9/12
Aroma: The nose has lots of pine/resin, with some grapefruit/tropical fruit, and caramel notes
Appearance: This beer pours a hazed copper-orange color with a sticky, off-white head/lace
Flavor: The flavor is quite fresh and hoppy, it is light-medium sweet, and a medium-plus bitter
Palate: This one has a great, clean drinkability, a medium body, a soft carbonation, and a dry finish
Overall Impression:
Obviously, I like the name, since lunch is when I do some of my best drinking! Anyway, as for the beer, this one has a great IPA nose. The pine/resin, grapefruit/tropical fruit, and caramel all work really well together. The pour is quite nice as well. The flavor is excellent, and unsurprisingly, the feel is quite good too. This one is really good, and dangerously drinkable. I couldn’t really find anything not to like. This is a heck of a beer, and one of the best new beers I’ve had in a while.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 phaleslu (4431) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 7, 2012
500 ml bottle shared by lushawn- thanks again, LeSchaun! Pours a semi-cloudy orange color with a small white head. Aroma of grapefruit and tangerine citrus, pale malts, floral notes, and tropical fruits. Flavor of orange citrus, pine resin, caramel malts, and floral notes. Light-medium bodied, with a juicy mouthfeel and resinous carbonation. Really nice IPA.
4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20 Treebs (733) - , Illinois, USA - OCT 5, 2012
Poured from a 500ml bottle into my Bell’s tulip. Got this in a mystery box from my BA buddy Mike. Thanks man!! Bottled 07/21/11.
A: Pours a deep amber, almost light brown color. What a head! 3 finger and off white after a semi-slow pour this bad boy is incredibly frothy and has some ridiculous retention. Pillows of lace. This almost looks like craters on the moon, amazing.
S: I’m getting great citrus and pear notes. Reminds me of a flowery fruit basket. I’m getting the ever so slightest of the cracker malts as well. Again I’m impressed so far.
T: A perfectly blended sweetness of fruits, apples and pears, and light flowers. The cracker malts lead in to the mild bitter hops on the finish and you have a simple yet elegant beer. Great.
M: Perfectly carbonated. Medium to light bodied with a great pear like fruitiness left on the palate.
O: Wow. I’m ridiculous impressed with this one. The best IPA I’ve had to date. It was just perfectly balanced and simply wreaked havoc (in a good way) on my taste buds. I wanted more and more. I need more and more. I love it.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 dfhhead25 (251) - Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 29, 2012
Aroma- some grain, hops, tropical fruits, papaya
Appearance- hazy golden orange, fantastic pillowy white head with incredible lacing
Taste- some light tropical fruits intertwined with sharp astringency and completed by a crisp hop bite, very well-balanced
Palate- perfect for the style, incredible mouthfeel
Overall- A very well-rounded IPA. It drinks more like a DIPA than an IPA IMO. I’ve heard several comparisons to Pliny and they’re warranted to some extent. The big difference for me is the lack of sweetness and tropical fruits in the Lunch. Nevertheless this is a very fine beer.

Bottle received from douglasjamjak. Thanks a ton! This beer is awesome! Pours a copper color with a sticky white head of foam with good retention. The aroma smells just like hop pellets when you open them up. Its heavily floral and fruity. Taste is just like the aroma with perfumy bitterness with sweetness coming through with ease. So good. Love this beer.

Bottle. Pours a clear orange amber with a large dense white beige head that deflates a bit. Big sticky pungent citrus on the nose, lots of pith and zest. Smooth and cool, nice clean malt and toast, sticky citrus, malt and toast. Long bitter finish, touch of citrus. Nice gentle hop on the finish, not overly bitter, rather smooth with lingering grapefruit. Lovely.

Bottle (500 ml). Thanks to the guy from the Maine who give me this fresh bottle at Harvest Festival. Dark copper with a huge foamy white head and nice lacing. Aroma is loads of citrus with hints of malt and pine. Taste is also of citrus but pine is more present than in aroma. Medium but long lasting bitter finish. Very hoppy! Not overly complex but it get the job done. Well balanced, drinkable and refreshing. A very good IPA!
