4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Serving: Bottle from a very generous friend. It pours a hazy amber color with a sizeable fluffy head. The nose is all about the hops. He served it to me blind and I guessed it was Pliney. Lots of pine and herbal hop notes. The flavor blew me away. The hops set to work and have a lasting effect on the tongue. Tons of pine, grapefruit, and herbal notes with just enough malt to keep thing interesting. Even more impressive is how light it seems on the tongue. I would say a light to medium body. Simply outstanding the best IPA I’ve had in the past year.

Love the aroma, reminds me of the even more refined Dinner. Great fruity flavor, little bitterness. A slightly less refined version of Dinner overall, and a great daily drinker until Dinner is more available.

This is an amazing IPA. Beautiful balance. Grapefruit notes. Not distributed much at all, but find it if you can.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
After looking for this beer for nearly a year, I poured it into my IPA glass and though "no way this will live up to my expectation." It did, as good as an IPA gets. Golden with big off-white head. Aroma of fresh juicy pineapple and mango and a hint of something akin to vanilla. As an IPA and not a DIPA it has a medium malt body, not sweet and syrupy but just the perfect amount to transfer the lovely hop flavors to you without being invisible. Hop character is mango, pear, pineapple and some pine. Tropical finish that lingers a while. Will buy again any time I see it.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle to ipa glass. Pours a pretty golden with a big white head. Aroma of grapefruit and pine with a touch of citrus notes behind. Taste is very grapefruit forward with a decent malt character and some sweetness to balance. Pretty bitter finish on the tongue. Overall a well made beer just not something I love.

4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Big head. Great tropical, grapefruit, and pine hop aroma. Honey colored and a little cloudy. In the same family of IPAs as Pliny (which I only know from clones), but what?s especially nice is the finish. I get a more delicate lemon and biscuit at the end with a tart and puckering sensation. Very drinkable despite the intense piney middle. Must be good water treatment (reminds me a little of TG but with more bite). Mineral taste?

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: APR 13, 2015 Bottle from high spirits. Light-amber-gold, slight haze, 2 inches of warm frothy creme brulee head that fades at a moderate rate to ocean foam. Aroma is strong berry, moderate orange, sweet grapefruit, some passion fruit, lychee, a touch of floral-honey sweetness underneath it all. Body is light-medium-light, watery-oily a touch starchy, medium-light carbonation of moderate coarseness, soft and soapy on the palate with light burn. Surprisingly inviscid. Flavor is lots of sweet orange, bit of sweet grapefruit, some passion fruit and gauva, pear. Green sap leading into foresty bitterness that doesn’t linger and certainly has no astringency. A refreshing finish. I am thoroughly impressed. I worry that these beers will suffer as the fill they shelves. Storage/distribution is part of the reason why the beers are so good. Wonder why Limbo IPA isn’t as good as it was when it first came out? That’s exactly why. Refrigeration is key though, so I’m hopeful! Of course, selling these at 8$ a bottle is likely not sustainable.
