4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured into a snifter, dark brown with a light brown head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of coffee, chocolate and vanilla. Tastes starts as predominately coffee, but mellows to a soft vanilla, well balanced sweet and bitter tastes on the tongue. Silly smooth mouthfeel, Very impressive. Overall, this is one of the best stouts I’ve had, highly recommended, I will be looking to load up on this as soon as possible.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle [500ml] shared with jercraigs, mabel & Radek -- c/o Radek. Pours dark brown, almost black, with an average size long-lasting frothy tan head. Mega roast aroma, with tons of roasted malt and roasted coffee, along with a bit of vanilla and some chocolate. Flavour is more chocolatey then expected along with roasted malt, coffee, vanilla and some light lactic notes. Medium bodied, almost-creamy mouthfeel. Pretty good.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Concise and richly flavored vanilla coffee cocoa nibs. Very dark liquid. On nitro at thirsty moose Taphouse in Portsmouth. Flattens quickly. Very light oily effect on mouthfeel. Very lightly astringent. Lightly sweet. Definitely avoiding tacky mouthfeel. Wonderful.

UPDATED: AUG 28, 2013 2013-08-23. Very dark body nice frothy tan head. 4+ Aroma is dry, dusty roasty malt. Flavour is very malty, sort of tangy not quite fruity malt. Tangy quality lingers in the finish. Cocoa grows as you go, touch of vanilla. Average plus bodied palate, effervescent carbonation. Bit roasty for me but decent. 7/3/7/3/14 Bottle shared by Radek.
2013-08-16. Black body with a modest tan head. 3+ Dryish roasty aroma with notes of cocoa and muted dark malt, light vanilla. 7+ Flavour of dry roast, modest sweet malt middle finishes fairly dry and bitter. Average plus bodied palate. Enjoyable. 7/4/7/3/16 Bottle at Campground Brewdown.

Bottle thanks to trade with phatdog1! Pours an opaque brownish black with bubbly tan head dissipates to leave good lacing. Aroma is nice dark and sweet chocolate, hints of roasted malt and toffee. Taste is more mellow than the nose, but still nice. Great balance and thick mouth, well done.

UPDATED: AUG 30, 2014 My Bottom Line:
Roastiness, dark chocolate and vanilla merge for the tastiest of results as they are joined for the long run in the finish by precise hop resins.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam settles atop the impenetrable darkness.
-Vanilla dosage is wisely done. Just enough to add character while never getting close to being sickening (like it can easily be).
-This gets more and more engaging as you down the pint.
-The mouthfeel is rich yet approachable.
