Our American-style stout aged on organic vanilla beans. Intense notes of coffee and dark chocolate lead way to subtle notes of natural vanilla. Flaked oats generate a silky mouthfeel.

Bottle. Tom is a deep brown color with a big and sudsy tan head. He smells kinda mean, like leather, chocolate and licorice. Flavor is a mix of the above with a touch of plum, vanilla and cardboard. It’s a nice stout, but not quite what I would have expected.

500ml bottle (bottle conditioned), stamped 100712 00, at tasting on 18 November 2012. Purchased somewhere in Massachusetts but I forget where. Excellent dark colour. Good rich roasty malts and dark chocolate. The vanilla is not too intrusive, thankfully. Not too sticky either. High drinkability couple with plenty of flavour. I like it.

Bottle shared by brew3crew. Pours dark brown in color with a small beige head. The aroma has roasted malt, mild coffee, dark chocolate with a splash of vanilla. The flavor is a nice combination of the aroma with a medium body and very smooth mouth feel. I found this to be very easy to drink and nothing like the name suggests.

Very nice stout. Deep roasty aroma, followed through in flavor. Hints of vanilla infusing throughout, in a complex medley that sings non-mean songs ironically enough. Semi sweet -- an initial sweetness seems to give way to dryness. Mouthfeel is thick and silky. Recommended! A- ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very dark brown / black body. Looks rich. Smells of coffee, chocolate and the obviously vanilla. Taste is a bit too sweet and syrupy for my personal stout tastes. It’s a solid beer, but I would I would like more roasted coffee notes and bitter finish.

On tap at Birrotecca in Baltimore. Black pour, loose tan head. Aroma is chocolate and vanilla, roast malt. Flavor is similar. A bit if acrid bitterness, but pretty well balanced. Nice beer.

Bouteille achetée au Half Time (Poughkeepsie). Robe noire, collet mousseux brun-beige et dentelle. Superbe apparence! Arôme enveloppante de vanille, accompagnée de notes de malt rôti, de café et de chocolat. En bouche, l’accent est davantage sur le malt, mais l’assemblage demeure des plus convainquants. Bonne rondeur. Rafraîchissante si consommée froide.

Pour from a bottle into a small plastic water glass, because that’s all that was offered at this conference. Served at ~60 degrees because I can’t find an ice machine, but eff it. Dark pour with a billowing cola head that collapses to a dense cap and nice lacing. Aroma is slightly subdued with notes of cherry, lightly astringent roasted malts, bitter dark chocolate. I get some almost sour notes initially which really work well here and heighten the perception of fruit. Taste is lots of bitter cocoa and coffee up front, moving to sweeter notes of vanilla, lightly roasted caramel malt, more chocolate. Indistinct fruit notes throughout Finishes slightly bitter with a lasting cocoa and vanilla aftertaste. Silky smooth mouthfeel. I really liked this one, delivers a good deal of complexity at an ABV much lower than I would have thought, making it easy to enjoy a full bottle of. The only not enjoyable thing about this beer was it’s price, which at 7.45 a 500 ml bottle is going to prevent me from searching this out again.

Bottle shared by craftbeerdesign. Pours black with just a bit of light at the edges. Taste is coffee, roasted malts, dark chocolate, molasses with vanilla that is delicately integrated. The vanilla is just ever so light and not overly sweet. Nice indeed.

Norfolk bottle. Glad I found this on the back end cap. Typical stout pour, completely opaque with a tan head. Nice lacing. Huge aroma of coffee mixed with sugar and milk. Outstanding flavor and silky smooth mouthfeel. Flavor reminds me of sweetened espresso at first but then some lingering bitterness. Very subtle vanilla.
