COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our American-style stout aged on organic vanilla beans. Intense notes of coffee and dark chocolate lead way to subtle notes of natural vanilla. Flaked oats generate a silky mouthfeel.

500 ml bottle courtesy of jtclockwork. Thanks. Pours a dense black color with a small khaki head that has fair retention. The aroma is big and bold with mocha, coffee and vanilla. The taste, like the nose, features mocha, coffee and vanilla, but also adds a new dimension of well roasted grains, burnt toast and bitter walnuts. The palate is full, creamy and silky smooth with soft carbonation. Finishes long and dry. Overall: First rate stout. I was afraid that this was going to overly sweet as is often the case with vanilla bean stouts, but it did not turn out that way at all. Very nice tasty stuff.

01/27/2013 vintage, 500 ml bottle into a tulip glass. A - Pours a jet black body with tons of mocha foam. Dies down quickly but leaves behind excellent lacing and retention. S - Really huge blast of coffee beans, milk chocolate and sweet vanilla. A bit minerally on the finish. There is something about this aroma that reminds me a lot of HIll Farmstead’s Everett, but it falls a bit short. T - Coffee, chocolate malts, sweet vanilla and some light roast. Quite tasty. M - Medium bodied and creamy. O - Perhaps it was my inclination to stack this up against double and imperial stouts....but that is not what this beer is. Its a relatively moderate ABV stout with a solid coffee and vanilla flavor. Its tasty and enjoyable, but not exactly world class. Once again I feel conflicted on the price tag of an MBC beer....

Bottle from Nathaniels. Pours a dark black color with a nice, thick, tan head. Strong notes of coffee, vanilla, and chocolate. Flavor consists of vanilla with a nice hit of coffee. Amazing balance and a nice bite in the finish. Very enjoyable stout.

Bottle from canals. Nice aromas of roast, coffee and vanilla. The body was a tad watery / thin for my tastes, but it held its own.

Dec. 2011 bottle. Pours a clear dark brown. Classic aroma for a RIS: big malt, coffee, licorice, sweet vanilla syrup, and a bit of rhubarb. Taste of smooth oak, a hint of vanilla, and a big coffee finish. Velvet body. Not bad.

Bottle shared by portableparty. Clear dark brown pour, minimal carbonation and a nutty cocoa aroma. Flavor was also roasty dry cocoa, just enough malt to give it enough body and finished a little dry. Really nice!

Bottle. Pours dark with little head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malts and other nice notes. Flavor is solid, nothing crazy but a good stout.

Bottle. Pours dark brown black. Good head. Tastes smells if coffee chocolate dark roast. Small vanilla. It was good but half way thru just too much roasted taste for me.
