3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared by B3C. Poured a black color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt and chocolate aroma. Medium to heavy chocolate sweet flavor with a medium to heavy vanilla sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a good beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours dark brown, almost black, in color with a small off-white head. Roast is the dominant aroma here with a fair amount of chocolate and cocoa. Smells a bit...dusty? Some hints of vanilla, but not as much as I would have expected. The flavor is a touch watery and thin. Does have a nice chocolate and vanilla character, though. Good, but could have been better.
