3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Location: 500 ml bottle from Norm’s, 11/17/12
Aroma: The nose is chocolate, vanilla, some roasted malts, and a little bit of coffee
Appearance: This one pours a dark brown-black color with a small beige head
Flavor: The taste is a little sweet, heavy malty, pretty toasty, and with a mild bitterness
Palate: The body is medium-plus, it feels creamy, has a soft carbonation, and a lengthy, lightly dry finish
I thought this was a really solid beer, but it didn’t approach world class for me. Still though, it was very solid, and the flavors were right in-line with what they were going for. The vanilla doesn’t overpower, instead, it adds a nice component. Good stuff.

Mild chocolate aroma with a touch of vanilla. Black bodied with a mild tan head. Bold bitter cocoa flavored. Roasted malt domination. It settles and smooths down on your palate after half a glass.

2015/04/05 - Pours a jet black colour, with a foamy, beige head that slowly reduces and leaves ample lacing. Aroma is roasted coffee, bitter cocoa, vanilla, mild smokiness and a hint of oak.
