4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from a bottle. Pours a light gold color, creamy head, moderately heavy lacing. Strong citrus aroma, bit of pine and mineral. Taste is a bit of malt sweetness and a moderately heavy dose of hop bitterness. Nice clean finish, medium length on the palate. Super drinkable and delicious.

Fresh on tap. At six percent, the flavor is a little on the light side here, but you do get the desired new APA taste. My third favorite of the Maine Beer Co. lineup, behind Lunch and Another One.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours hazy amber with a big creamy to frothy off white head that shows good retention and leaves great lacing. Big aroma of pine and more subtle floral overtones. Medium bitter and lightly sweet taste in a light to medium body, thin to creamy texture, average carbonation which increases over time in the back of my mouth and a lingering bitter finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle into pint glass. Hoppy floral with minimal pine and on the bitter side. A touch of sweetness at the end but it quickly retreats.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
500ml bottle into a tulip.
A: Pours a hazy golden color. The head is a two finger eggshell shade. Retention is very good, and so is the thick texture. And so is the lacing left behind, really.
S: The first whiffs heave a goodly amount of grapefruit, with a subtle backing of tropical fruit. Give it time to open up, and some biscuity malts will appear, along with a piny touch. Aromatically, it doesnít beat the senses over the nose - rather, it works through delicate, balanced subtlety.
T: While it opens fairly bitterly on the tongue, it finishes with a healthy dose of mango and melon. The bitterness washes away nicely on the back end, and even supplanted by a hint of malt. Itís quite Simcoe forward, and I thatís precisely why I like it so much.
M: Superbly crisp and clean. Very little of anything lingers on the tongue, apart from a slight bitterness. Iíd even call it thirst quenching, which is frankly amazing taking its dry finish into consideration. It does all of this without relying on strong carbonation, too.
O: No singular element of this blows the mind, but in the same way that Lunch or Sculpin work, continuing to drink it will reveal a very elegant, refined example of a style thatís mainly reliant on brute force. Still, this is a LOT of money for a simple pale ale, even one as good as this.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a cloudy, golden-orange, nice frothy white head, outstanding retention, wicked awesome lacing. Nose is some slightly dank passionfruit, grapefruit, piney-ness, guava, melon, malt. Mouth is medium bodied, very dry, subtle bitterness underpinning a whole bunch of tropical fruit resinous pines, grapefruit, some slight tannin notes toward the end, finishes with a bit of bready malt and a mellow bitterness. Very nice balance. Please sir, Iíd like some MO.
