Had on tap at the Grog. $8 for the full pint. Pours a mahogany-tinted black with which a trim off-khaki head 1 finger in length stood. Tastes and smells of sourdough, charcoal, chocolate malt, spent grain, candied bitter orange, juniper berries, and roast. Warming, smooth, delicate. Delicious.

Draft at Blue Monk. buffalo, fuller bodied black pour, heavy roasted malts, far chocolate, slight burnt coffee, piney hops, touch of medicinal notes. Aggressive and very good

Bottle poured a black in color with a one finger dark tan head. Aroma has bright hops layered over dark malt, roast, coffee, and chocolate. Mouth feel is surprisingly light with lower side carbonation. Flavor has plenty of malts, roast, light bitterness, pines, citrus, and resins.

Aroma is a very nice floral hopiness with some light earthiness. Some nice roastiness and smokiness in the malt profile. Taste is a roastiness and caramel rich grain profile that is met by a fairly strong hopiness that leaves a tartiness on finish. Smoky malt character retsins until finish. Appearance is a dark black body with a beige /pearl creamy head that retains fairly well.

bottle. Deep brown with one finger head. Rich chocolate malt. Much less roasty than most other Black IPAs Iíve had, which is a nice change. Excellent hops. The flavors here are excellent, and yet I find myself with taste fatigue by the end of the bottle. I canít get into this style no matter how hard I try.

Black pour with a tan head. Aroma has roast malt accompanied by pine hops. The roast malt is held back in the flavor, allowing this to become a black IPA. The roast malt is there, but not in a way that this makes you think itís a stout.

Bottle pour. Pours a dark, thick coffee-like brown/black. Beans and malt on the nose. Very smooth body with medium bitterness and a subtle coffee flavor. Nice.
