_angst_ (4261) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - APR 4, 2016
Bottle courtesy of rlgk. Pours pretty much black with a small dark mocha head that leaves lots of spotty trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty, tiny fruity and slightly herbal with roasted malts, caramel, toffee, grapefruit juice, mango, peaches, dark roast coffee, liquorice, moist soil and lemon zest. Taste is tiny sweet, bitter, malty, tiny fruity and herbal. Mouthfeel is soft, tiny dry, astringent and medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet and bitter with roasted malts, dark roast coffee and grapefruit. Solid BIPA. Nothing extreme.

Bottle @ Benzai, medium sample. Dark brown color, medium frothy brown head. Aroma of fruity hops, grapefruit, bit pine, fair amount of roast, dark chocolate. Getting towards a hoppy porter almost with the choc and roast. Medium bitter in taste, nicely balanced between roasty bitterness and hoppy bitterness. Slight hint of licorice. Good balance, good beer.
