3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle on date 11/04/12 drank on 01/04/13. Pours a very dark reddish brown with a decent tan colored head. Smells of citrus, resiny pine hops with bit of caramel. Taste is resin with a bit of citrus and a nice malty balance. Caramel is in there too but very well balanced and the right amount of bitterness. Enjoyed this bottle much more that the first time I had it.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From notes. Medium amber colored body, decent sized pale tan head. Shows resinous and pine hops, accented by some grapefruit and citrus. Some pale malts and caramel are also noticeable. Medium bodied, gentle carbonation, clean finish with some light bitterness.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
It poured a very dark red with some light brown edges. A small white head appeared for less than a minute. The lacing was light and stuck to the pint glass for a good minute then gently slid down the sides of the glass. The smell was the hops and caramel, some pine and citrus enter in the background. The taste was sweet and bitter between the hops and caramel with some spiciness. The palate was well carbonated with a slightly creaminess coating the mouth and still had a dry finish. Overall, this was impressive.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Gianni - thanks! Pours dark amber with a very large and rocky light tan head. Aroma is light hop biterness and pine with roasted caramel. Taste is light charred malt with caramel and pine/hop bitterness. Cleen mouthfeel. Nice beer but but the hops are minimal. Must be an out of date bottle.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
You know whatís fun? Splitting hairs about style definitions. The Bride & I discussed - at length - if this was a hoppy amber or a full bodied IPA. It doesnít really fit neatly in any category, so we didnít really reach any conclusions. Anyway, you should drink this. Itís good. Thanks to my Secret Santa for this one!

Bottled 9/30/12. Drank 12/5/12. Delicious beer. Pours a beautiful rich brown with ample head. Aroma is a combination of piney/earthy hops with some citrus buried under malt aroma. Flavor is very delicate hop and caramel play with some notes of fresh bread. Finish is clean and hoppy with a lingering malt sweetness. Very nice.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Starts with a great hop nose and large head, then settles down into a heavy amber once the carbonation starts to come out. Very good and has a lot of bitterness. Alcohol is apparent. I love the idea of a hoppy red, and would like to see this a little lighter-bodied. Wish we had this out here in California!

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Billowy tan head with great lacing.
Grapefruit aroma and a hoppy scent forward with a malty finish. Deep caramel color. Exceptional balance.

Pint bottle I think! Won this in a fantasy baseball league. pours a deep red with a 2 finger off white creamy head - settles down to a thin lacing. big citrus hop nose with a great caramel malt balance with a bit of spice and vanilla... almost perfect nose - so well balanced. medium body - very smooth and creamy throughout with notes of pineapple, orange, light cranberry, raisin, caramel and red grapes. dry and bitter finish with lingering sweet malts and dark fruits. The best or one of the best amber / red ale Iíve had.
