On a rainy fall day in 2009, my five-year-old daughter Zoe and I were wandering the streets of Bar Harbor and stumbled across the Whale Museum. Zoe loved it. Hopefully we do the same for you. Cheers! Our Happy, Hoppy, Amber-Ale

Perfect. If I could drink a beer everyday then this would be it. Slightly hazy copper pour with a 1 inch frothy head. Caramel malt and grassy hops come right through. Taste is medium to heavy bitter with a long let off. Thanks a million mcox90!

03/22/11 - 16.9oz to pint glass A: Wow. Power waft of hops upon first crack of bottle and the glass proved just as impressive. This smells fucking delicious. Smooth bold hops smell liike sweet, sugary, candied spruce, pineapple, orange and lemon - all of this riding high atop a beautiful caramel maltiness. Superb. Damn this nice. A: Pours a rich dark brown with reddish hue (dark sienna) with huge, dense, 3 finger seafoam colored head. I grew impatient as I waited for this thing to lay down. Sticky lace paints the sides of the glass as if it was sponged on. T: Happy things going on here: A healthy, borderline IPA, dose of piney evergreen-like hops complemented by a solid caramel and nutty backbone of malt goodness with a orange/grapefruit sweetness reappearing mid sip and riding thru the finish. P: Medium, super creamy, nice slighty sweet and bitter finish. End of one sip is an almost perfect seque into the next. O: Sleek bottle, clean simple label, and every aspect of the the beer itself is spot on tight. These guys only have 2 brews and both are simply fantastic. Highly recommended, this is superb drinking. Ill buy one each time I see it. Im thoroughly impressed - count me in, I am a fan.

The aroma of Zoe is fresh and citrus. There is a complex tropical flavor that rises from the hops and it finishes smooth and balanced. Every Maine beer has been a treat

Pours deep brown, almost black. Thick creme colored head dissipates slowly. This beer reminds me of a black ipa with a little less bite but a bit more complexity. Nutty flavors up front followed by grapefruit. If you like light lagers, stay away. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured out of a 22 oz bottle. A deep Amber color, pleasant aroma of light hops. First sip had plenty of malt, the rest of the glass the hops showed Up. They were not overpowering like many hyper hopped beers. A great, clean Amber. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Gorgeous dark amber color. Huge notes of pine, citrus and tropical fruit. It just explodes out of the bottle as soon as you open the top. It smells like some of the best IPAs out there. Taste is like biting into a fresh grapefruit. Really big grapefruit and tropical fruit. The "hoppy, hoppy" part is definitely there. For an "amber ale" it tastes like some of the best IPAs out there. Better than a lot of them as well. This is the first Maine Brewing beer I have had and I highly recommend it. Absolutely delicious. Cheers!

for a brewery that makes 2 beers, this is an unextected surprise, even though it shouldnt be because the spring ale was so good, but this rivals nugget nectar for the best amber ive ever had. perfect color and palate, and very close for the other categories, absolutely delicious, would have it everyday if it was easier to get, hint hint MBC, BREW SOME MORE!!!

Pours cloudy brown with a thick tan head. Strong aroma of caramel and spruce with hints of nut and resin. Taste is primarily bitter followed by noticeable sweetness. Texture is creamy with a full body and soft carbonation. Long bittersweet finish. Good for a rainy fall day.

Billowy tan head with great lacing. Grapefruit aroma and a hoppy scent forward with a malty finish. Deep caramel color. Exceptional balance. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
