Pours flat black with a dense tan head. Lacy. Smells first and foremost of coffee with underlying smoky malt aromas. Taste is of roasted malt followed by bitter coffee flavors. Smoky and creamy flavors. Milky flavors and mouthfeel not unlike a milk stout. Bitter, almost dry finish. Very smooth. Interesting concoction. First time I’ve had a stout brewed with coffee and it is a positive experience! Thanks to bennybrew for the growler.

Good stout, not sure I agree with the sweet stout classification, though. Very dark brown with a tan, foamy head that can be rekindled with just a swirl of the glass. Roasted, nutty, aroma with a hint of bitter coffee. Roasted flavors persist, more like a dry stout or even a porter with a subtle and effective use of the espresso. Not at all overbearing. Nice lingering flavors. Minor nit - a little thin on the palate.
