COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dry Hopped Mead gets its name from the dominant citrus-like flavor and aroma imparted from the dry hopping process, which involves aging the mead with fresh whole leaf hops.

It is clear gold/ yellow in appearance. Cascade hops contribute its strong fruity aroma with hints of pine, grapefruit, and subtle floral notes. An enhanced mouth-feel results in a medium-full bodied wine that has a well balanced burst of fresh grapefruit flavor, subtle hint of honey and natural bitterness of the hops.

Aroma has honey, citrus, and a slight metallic tint. More of the same in the flavor, which has honey, citrus, and some flowery bitterness. It’s smoother and less sweet than a lot of meads, and has a beer-like bitterness in the finish. Nice.

750mL Bottle. Thanks for sharing, Emeline. Aroma had a lot of beeswax, fresh generic honey, and the slightest hint of citrus. I appreciate the dry body to this, it didn’t need the egregious sweetness of so many meads. But, I find the heavy wax presence detracting and I don’t think it’s got nearly enough Hop aroma or flavor to live up to the promise.

Sampled at The Great Lost Bear - Pours a clear golden amber in color with no head and zero carbonation. Aroma is hoppy... citrus, floral and pine with a basic sweetness lying underneath. The hops mask the aroma of the honey. Flavor is a very interesting mix of hops (citrus/grapefruit and pine) along with the distinct flavor of the flowers found in the honey. The finish is somewhat hoppy bitter to start, but the honey sweetness lingers well past all of that. I generally like mead, but never had one made with hops... good idea!

750ml bottle... Pours a transparent almost clear slightly yellow hued elixir with obviously no head... Light honey and white grape, barely any hops... Flavors are run down smewhat with peppery white grapes but for the most part subdued. Boozy finish, somewhat strong. Body is a bit on the lighter side, spicy finish, but not much more than that.

Taste from a 750 ml bottle at the meadery. Looks just like the Dry and Semi-Sweet meads, with a pale golden color and some legs. Aroma of herbal and floral hops with just a wee hint of lemon citrus, along with honey and oak. Flavor of wildflowers, honey, herbs, and white wine grapes. Medium-bodied, with a floral, sweet mouthfeel and minimal carbonation. Very unique mead and a nice improvement on the Dry Mead base.

UPDATED: SEP 15, 2011 Pours a very pale hue of yellow. Aroma of subtle honey and fresh cut grass. The flavor is watery honey up front. The backend is rather green and hoppy. Mostly grassy in flavor but hints of citrus as well. Overall the base mead is a little too watery. The blast of hops saves it though and makes it pretty enjoyable. Some tweaking could make this good mead great.

(750 ml bottle from Bootleggers) Pours clear light golden-yellow with extremely fine bubbles rising in the body. No head. Aroma of flowery hops, honeysuckle and honey. Mouthfeel is wine-like, smooth, very lightly dry with some light tingliness. Light droplets of lacing. Tastes of honeysuckle and honey with some sweet floweriness. Lightly wine-like. Light yeastiness. Hop presence emerges with a moderate bitter, beer-like finish. ABV well-covered. Very nice.
