A refreshing summer seasonal, this variety highlights Maine-grown strawberries harvested from Maxwell’s Farm and Dole Orchards. Light and dry jammy notes up front, with a lasting balanced finish.

Nice mead with a really good strawberry jam character. I was impressed with these guys at the Festival and some of their bottled ideas sound really interesting, like the coffee maple mead.

Sampler at meadery. Pours light red. Fairly solid strawberry on the nose which gets more pronounced as it warms. Fairly dry on the tongue but still retains that strawberry flavor. Nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

July 23, 2015. Bottle, sample at Maine Mead Works.
Pale reddish with no head. Aroma is lots of fresh ripe juicy strawberries, some floral honey notes, apple and vanilla. Taste is light to medium sweet with honey and strawberries, slightly dry finish with some apple and tart berries. Medium bodied with a dry finish.
Very nice strawberry aroma, would benefit on a bit more residual sweetness.

Draft at crunchy’s. Light pink with no head. Looked like a zinfandel. Overpowering strawberry aroma. Cloyingly sweet strawberry flavor and a bit boozy.

Pouring at The Festival in Portland with Kramer, Andrew, and J-Dadmond. Pours a clear orange golden amber. Soft berries under honey. Sweet with light carbonation (I believe they kegged and lightly carbed this for the festival, but it’s usually uncarbonated). Soft honey, sweetness, chewy honey, sweet strawberry. Nice.

Taste from a 750 ml bottle at the meadery. Served chilled, as with the rest of their meads. Pours a clear rose color with no carbonation or head. Lovely strawberry aroma, fresh and fruity, on top of light honey, oak, and floral notes. Flavor of strawberries, honey, oak, and apples. Medium-bodied, with a tart, sweet mouthfeel and minimal carbonation. Really nice fruit mead. One of my favorites at MMW.
