The tea and honey works great, very light in body. Lots of interesting tea notes that supports the honey.

Tap. Pours crystal clear golden with a small fizzy white head that dissipates quickly with no lain. Aroma is honey, mint, slightly medicinal, cough drops. Flavor is also a bit medicinal, honey, tea, mint. Ricola, medicinal. Light plus sweet. Light body, light carbonation.

Draught at Three Penny Taproom, 3/15/14
Clear, pale golden mead with just a touch of carbonation visible.
Mint is quite apparent in the nose, as, of course, is the honey sweetness, though it’s quickly tempered by a black pepper-like spiciness, which must be the black tea. Soft vanilla and even touches of lactic acid waft over the nose. The honey seems fresh, very raw and as aromatic as I’ve smelled. I could smell the stuff while they were pouring it. No fusels or any other flaws and thank god not an adjunct bomb.
Shockingly good in the flavor. Not that I had any biases towards Maine Mead Works, just a little skeptical of a drink containing honey, black tea, lemon and mint, as those arent exactly subtle flavors and the potential for overdoing it seems very high.
Quite nicely, though, I’m proven wrong and this stuff is just phenomenal. I kept waiting for the honey to get syrupy on the finish, or the mint to overpower the rest, but it all is well balanced. The lemon seemed the lightest of all, and gave more flavor than it did acid, while the tea added a nice peppery dryness and the mint and honey seemed to be the main force of the flavor (the mint could probably be toned down a little bit more). Immediately noted it was a hydromel as well, as it was just way too drinkable (was unaware of the abv at the time). The lactic notes added a wild and additionally dry note that was exceptional (havent had that in a mead before, that I can recall). Will certainly be trying more from these guys.

Bottle purchased at the meadery last summer. Clear gold pour with no head and no legs. Aroma of lemon, tea leaves and honey. Herbal and tea flavor with lemon before a semi-dry finish. Pretty tasty.

Pouring at The Festival in Portland with Kramer, Andrew, and J-Dadmond. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Honey, big mint tea, herbal notes. Medium bodied, light carbonation. Tastes like iced tea. Minty and herbal, soft honey. Delicious stuff. This and their other mead prompted a visit to the meadery to get all of the rest of their meads. Neat stuff.

Draft atTHE FESTIVAL2013 with Andrew. Pours a clear golden body with light white lacing. Aroma is elite soap shop in manhattan, nice floral to Ed and tons of mint. Mouthfeel is light with mint and flowers dominating. Great mead.

Tap at 3 penny with Brian and Courtney, pours golden with no head or lace. Aroma is in your face raw honey. Taste is minty, herbal, earthy, black tea and sweet buttery honey...maybe some tupelo? Awesome mead.

Amazing nose (fresh garden scents with strong honey). Definite mint in the taste with the faint hint of citrus at the end. Strong notes of chamomile. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled at Maine Mead Works,July, 26th, 2012, around 4:00 pm. I had just finished lunching at Silly’s across the street. Poured a glitzy swarthy orangeade giving off fragrances of tea leaves, table sugar, grape skins, honey, cloves and booze. I certainly got the mint, and black tea on the taste...the lemon? Not so much. The honey used tasted of butterscotch. Could the honey be avocado or orange blossom? Possible, for I did remember a brief bittersweet orange zest note by end-palate.
