Bottle from Pivoteka Beergeek, Prague. Pours a hazy deep amber-orange body with a large creamy off-white head. Aroma is prunes, strawberry jam, clove, red fruits, wheat, hints of caramel and citric peel; quite original. Taste is caramel, prunes, raisins, wheat, citric peel, clove, hints of banana and hay. Full, creamy body, high carbonation. An original and tasty beer in the fringes of the German brewing tradition.

Douberd (1688) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - MAR 27, 2014
Bottle 750 ml, poured into a snifter. ABV 7.1% Pours a beautiful bright orange coloured beer, a bit hazy, with two fingers of off-white head, thick, with very good retention. Plenty of lacing sticks on the glass. Aroma is fruity with mainly peaches, a bit of yeast, some brett like aroma notes. Very nice taste, hops, peaches, light yeast, wheat, moderate alcohol but more notable when it warms up a bit. Medium body, good carbonation, nice dryness on the palate. Great beer, very refreshing, highly drinkable.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes orangegelbes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch intensiv hefig fruchtig, Geschmack sehr hefig, fruchtig, bananig, leicht würzig, leicht alkoholisch.

bartlebier (1161) - Belchum im Breisgau, GERMANY - FEB 15, 2014
(lost backlog, upon returning empties). 75cl bottle series, Südstar Getränke 2013/07, sampled some months after. Murky amber, smells both chalky and of old fruit (peach, banana, ¿berries). Yeast profile of a Weizenbock, although a bit lighter, but with similar heavy, dominant malts, a bit like the Franziskaner Weissbier Royal Edition. Hops lack definition, not all that pleasant drinking. Least succesful in the series and hence painfully obvious: overstuffed, overpiced, overmarketed to mark blandness.

knutole (28) - Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - FEB 9, 2014
aroma: red wild berries, sweet, a bit sour, decent malty flavour, but a very strong berries flavor; taste: cassis fruit, currant, red wild berries, sweet, decent taste but very intense / heavy; couldn’t drink too much of this in a session but overall a decent beer

Sigmund (4809) - Tau, NORWAY - FEB 7, 2014
750 ml bottle, from Alcampo Gran Canaria. ABV is 7.1%. Orange colour, moderate head, slightly off-white. The aroma is yeasty. fruity and malty, with notes of slightly stale jam. Drank it a bit too cold. The flavour was fairly refreshing, with yeasty, wheaty, malty, spicy and phenolic notes. Not bad.

Hazy amber color, good white head. Aroma of wheat, vanilla and caramel. Taste is sweet with spices and wheat notes. Full bodied . Minimal hoppy bitterness in finish. Decent weizen. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
