.5L bottle - Shared this one w/ SkyCop32. Picked up at Maruhn Getränke in Darmstadt. Pours a nice light golden yellow. Aromas of hops, grass, and maybe malt. Taste is crisp with a nice mellow hop flavor.

2.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
330 ml bottle, bought in Germany. Poured into a footed pilsner glass, ABV 4.8%.
I poured it while scratching my head as to why they are mentioning 12% less alcohol than a "normal" pilsner when most of the german beers are less than 5% alcohol, so actually it has the same alcohol as any other german pilsner. The rest, about less calories and such, I couldn’t care less since I posses the power of drinking without getting any weight. Back to the beer, it has a slighty pae golden yellow colour on the body, with a bit more than one finger of white, soapy head on top. Nice activity in the glass. Head has a good retention and it leaves some light lacing on the glass.
Bad aroma of dirty hay and rubber.
Taste is not that bad on the other hand. Nothing extra ordinary, a usual pilsner taste, some malts, a bit of apples and mildly bitter on the aftertaste, it is quite pleasantly drinkable.
Medium thin body, carbonation above average. Nice dryness on the palate.
Overall, not that bad, if they could only do something about the aroma.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Clear golden body with a big beaded white head. Aroma doesn’t grab me much at all, sulphur pong hung around for a while with some soapy malty notes afterwards. Thin body, not big flavours, good carbonation, a little watery and mainly grainy notes. Germans make good beers - generally.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottled 33cl. It pours a pale yellow beer with a small white head. The nose reminds me of a non alcoholic beer. Hops, breakfast cereals and honey showing up. The taste is hoppy and sour. Low bitterness. Poor lace. Breakfast cereals and honey in the flavor too. Mediocre grassy finish. Probably highly drinkable.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Hoppy pilsener. Faint aroma but taste has a snappy, tangy character. Appearance is normal for the style, mouthfeel leans to watery. Nothing spectacular here, but if you like bitter beers, this may be to your liking.

1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
No nose to speak of, yellow color, thin head. Extreme, knife-like sharp on the middle of the tongue at the finish, but not in a good way. Balance way off. Thin. Odd.

1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Honestly the first Diät-Pilsner I’ve tried. Haven’t missed much, the fact it is intended for persons with diabetes is a good thing but leaves everyone else scratching their head at the lack of pizazz flavour-wise.
From the bottle into a flute glass. A soapy white lather managed to form after a vigorous pour - a wafer thin, drabby mess - atop its tight, finely carbonated, bright, medium gold body. Wisps of fluffy grains on the nose like puffed wheat and barley. Sadly, edges of boiled cabbage water and wet cat ail it and can’t be ignored, tainting it for the length as it was stretched for taste. Thin, crisp and dry is the palate. Light showing of grains mid to late seems pasty in feel. Slight herbal tang late also, not much bitterness to save it. Clean, crisp swallow, subtle dustiness in the afterglow. That’s pretty much it. Clean tasting over attenuated lager, quite off on the nose. Bland overall!!! (33cL, 10/10/07, The Beer Store Morley)
