This is the first nonalcoholic beer that actually is no worse than its alcoholic cousins. Fruity and rich taste, which doesn’t suffer from the lightness that 0 % causes. OK, so maybe not comparable to the great heavy beers, but in its own little niche the supreme champion so far. Too bad I never had the chance to buy Maisels original beer.

500 ml bottle. Pours cloudy amber with an enormous white head. Fruity wheat aroma and taste with banana notes. Mild palate. Good for an alcohol-free beer.

My first low-alcohol rating! :-) Pours a nougat-brown, hazy body with a dense, thick white head. Smell is intensely wort-like maltiness, with a bit of roasted tones. Taste is equally wort-ish, with hints of bread, wheat and cereals. Kinda like the traditional Norwegian "vørterøl" (wort beer), with a German hefe profile. A bit sweet, without going over the top. Maisel’s Weisse is ten times better than the other pilsner-based low alcohol beers around in Norway; really drinkable, refreshing and nice. A positive surprise indeed.

Erzengel (3554) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - DEC 6, 2013

Huge white head, cloudy orange colour. The aroma is indistinguishable from an alcoholic beer. Fruity, watery taste and a mildly sweet palate. Good for a non-alcoholic beer.

50cl bottle at home. served at about 15degrees celc. to get some flavor out of it. pours cloudy yellow, lots of champagne bubbles, huge thick creamy offwhite head. looks great. wheat aroma, very faint peachy fruity note, very faint citrus, otherwise wheat and yeast. nice aroma. flavor is wheat, yeast, very slight citrussy sour note. mild flavor of weissbier. not bad at all for a nonalcoholic.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet. Pours murky amber with a big creamy egg shell white head. Aroma of nutty malts, fresh baked white bread with a fresh doughy note. Taste is surprisingly full and refreshing, just like a hefe. This have to be one of the best low alcohol beer I have ever tasted. Good balanced, light fruity.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Starts mild, but not washy. Fine yeasty with fruity hints. Not as bready as other alcoholc free weizens. Mild finish, well balanced. Quite drinkable. Good.
