Bottled@Monks Cafe Svea, Stockholm. Hazy orangeish pale brown colour with mediumsized white head. Aroma is wheat, yeast, some herbs and mild fruits. Flavour is wheat, fruits, some herbs as well as quite strong yeastyness. The yeastyness mellows out as the beer warms up a bit.

Bottle. A dense, white head forms over a quite clear golden body. Banana and bubble gum dominates the aroma, with some wheat and cloves. The flavor too has too much banana and especially bubble gum to be really pleasant, some hops add a little bitterness. Medium body, pleasant carbonation. A decent one, but a bit too much for me. 120217

It’s unclear yellow-golden with a huge, creamy head, and the aroma has notes of yeast, banana, wheat and a little banana peel. The flavour is sweet with balanced yeasty notes, banana, wheat, and the finish is spicy. It’s well-balanced, but compared with Maisel Weisse Original, it’s not quite as nice – but truth be told, the difference is very minimal, when you have a glass of each.

A Mes rate. Keg at the Rake.
Thanks to Tom for pointing this out otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered. Very cloudy yellow brown with a thin, oily white head. Far too yeasty on the nose to let anything else really shine through. Similar flavour, all yeast and no trousers. Hints of plastic and chlorine with a faint metallic lager type note and some late smoky hints, I kid you not. Other than that a really standard weiss and nothing to get excited about.
