COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Crystal-clear brilliance and lively sparkling carbonic acid are the outstanding features of Maisel’s Weisse Kristall and make it a wonderfully exuberant refreshment. Due to the special composition of sun-ripened wheat varieties and brighter barley malts, fermented and aged with our special white yeast, unfolds at first sip a balanced bouquet of different fruit flavors of ripe banana to a slight citrus note, which mixes at departure with the typical, slightly spicy wheat beer flavor. A predicate for a particular quality.

Pours clear gold with a fluffy white head. Aroma is fairly typical for a Weizen with banana and yeast coming to the fore. However the beer is much more light bodied than Maisels original, a sort of Maisels Lite if you like. The flavors are less pronounced than the original; the banana remains and is accompanied by a light lemon bitterness, particularly in the aftertaste. It is the excellent aroma which keeps drawing you back in and reminding you that this is really a Weizen. Decent, and I am obviously not a fan of the style, but I just don’t see a reason to drink this if the original is available.

Bottle at Hausmann’s, Frankfurt. Pours sparkling and clear gold with a large, frothy white head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is earthy wheat malt, lemon zest, and light banana notes. Flavor is spicy and earthy wheat malt, fresh lemon zest, light bananas and a crisp, dry finish. Light body and heavy carbonation.

500 ml bottle picked up during my trip to Hilton Head from notes. Pours a clear yellow golden color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor have pale wheat malts, sweeter than many wheat beers, light banana, light spice, mild tangy citrus, fairly soft overall, I wouldn’t normally pick something like this but needed to boost my kristallweizen numbers a bit.

Farven er lys gyldengul, med en stor flot hvid skumkrone. Aromaen er banan og honning (?). Smagen er let frugtagtig. Meget behagelig øl.

Draft at Bamberger Weissbierhaus during the Bamberg Jolly. Pours perfectly clear gold, effervescent, with a fluffy, pure white head. Good stuff, moderately sweet, with some sugary wheat, white bread, too. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish, simple and sugary, with more mellow wheat notes. Basic but alright.

Fragrance malty, sweet, corn, wheat component is felt only partially. Taste light, refreshing, with grassy tones. The wheat sour aftertaste prevails almost punched perfume notes, at the end of a little bitter.
