Draught @ Fermentoren. Pours very hazy reddish orange with a frothy white head that leaves some sticky lacing on the glass while dissipating.Smell is slightly fruity and slightly spicy with crackers, white bread, red pears, green banana, hay, dry soil, cloves and lemon peal. Taste is tiny sour, tiny bitter, slightly malty, slightly fruity estery and slightly spicy phenolic. Mouthfeel is soft, dry, tiny tart and light to medium bodied. Finish is tiny sour and tiny bitter with crackers, white bread, red pears, unripe banana, hay, dry soil, cloves, white pepper corns, coriander and lemon peal. Bit too heavy on the pear esters to suit me.

On tap at some Berlin biergarten I forgot. A veiled orangeish with a thick, resilient white head. Aroma is banana, cloves, oranges. Flavor is orange, banana, spicy (cloves). Finish is fruity, wheaty. Light to medium body, soft mouthfeel and average carbonation.

0.33L bottle poured into a Weizen glass Appearance: Off brown, deep golden orange with slight haziness. Pours with a two finger head that retains quite well. Aroma: Started off with a earthy yeasty dominant aroma with slight metallic smell. Swirling and subsequent whiffs reveals a pleasant but subtle banana and vanilla notes. Banana aroma is must subtler compared to other weizens. Taste: Taste is predominated by yeast and breadiness with only very slight hints of banana fruitiness to balance it out. As such the overall taste is quite dry and has restrained esters profile. Bitterness is low to almost non existent. It finishes off with subtle banana and slight clove like spiciness. The finish slowly develops into a buttery bready and nutty flavor. Palate: Light mouth feel with a slight watery texture. Medium and lively carbonation that isn’t overpowering. Overall : A very well balanced weizen that does not accentuate any certain aspects. Easygoing and unpretentious and no doubt quite refreshing it has something very classic about it. Though it would be better off with more fruitiness and tartness to balance off the breadiness.

Farven er orange gul med et sprudlende skum (som det sig hør og bør). Dufter af bananer og gær og smager af samme men også af koriander. Absolut anbefalelsesværdig.
