UPDATED: AUG 1, 2003 Bottled. I found this in a convenience store at the Doral Building on Michigan Avenue, tucked behind the Coors Light tallboys. Tasted it on the train home, since the rush hour schedule wouldn't let me stop over at Flossmoor Station. Drank this from the bottle, so I couldn't tell the color well. But drinking from the bottle did kick up a nice foamy head inside, and there was a fine coating of yeast at the bottom of the bottle. Presented a nice wheaty nose when I opened the bottle. The usual clove and banana tastes only became apparent after the first few sips. Between that was a nice malty sweetness balanced unobtrusively by German hops. Further down the bottle, the lemony taste becomes evident, which builds to a nice tartness as it warms up. All in all, a good, tasty beer to find.

Bottle. Dark yellow body, medium head. Yeasty aroma with more wheat than banana or spices. Mostly wheaty taste with low level spiciness. Standard German Hefeweizen - clean and refreshing but generally quite unmemorable, as are most of the examples of the style in my opinion.

Cloudy yellow colour, huge white head with good retention. Strong aroma of bananas, furthermore some butter and gingerbread (Lebkuchen). Sour-sweet taste. Decent Weissbier, but there are better ones out there.

This is German hefeweizen at its best. Very in style. Beautiful concrete white head, cloves and banana in aroma. Extremely drinkable. Almost perfect

Bottle. Cloudy orange with a huge frothy head. Splendid aroma of banana, pears, bubblegum and spices. Sweet fruity flavors with typical weizen spiciness, nice but a bit weak relatively to the aroma. Rather light-bodied, short finish. Decent and easy drinking.

Sweet flavor, fruity (banana, pear, orange), candy, wheat, a bit spicy, earthy, sweet sticky finish. Medium carbonation, a bit watery, light to medium-bodied.

On tap at Beer Brothers. Pours cloudy yellow amber with average fizzy head and thick lacing. Average intensity aroma of candy banana, clove spice and yeast. Taste is similar to smell with a crisp clean finish that is quite refreshing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
