COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In a country with beers named after the Devil, or called "Sudden Death", one called "Misfortune" (Malheur, in French) is just another wry jest. The beer itself is no joke. On the contrary, it is an inspired beer. Malheur is made in a new, revivalist, brewery.

De Landtsheer used to brew the Malheur series towards the more bitter side. Nice, fresh and hoppy brews in a beer country where sweet is/was still the way to go. However the have all received a transformation, just like the brewery itself. They became more and more mainstream. And the Malheur 6 is sadly no exception. Although it didn’t become more sweet, it just is not as fresh and hoppy any more. To bad because I really used to enjoy this beer.

250 ml bottle.
Pours a golden colour with a large white small head. Aroma of light spices, honey and herbs. Flavour of light spices such as cinnamon, sweet toffee, malts, herbs and mild dark fruits. Medium bodied, high carbonation and a sweet, fruity, slightly warming finish. Too sweet but pretty straightforward and well done.

Clear light golden beer, firm white head. Floral hop aroma, quite malty, Belgian yeast, light banana and apricot, spices. Flavour light bitter, sweet malty, apricot, some honey, quite dry. Finish dry, floral. Quite nice.

bottle at home ... golden yellow ... big bubbly white head ... soft grassy yeasy hop nose ... banana and light salty hop flavour ... light dry yeast ... soft fruits ... ok... but not exciting me.
