Commercial Description:
In a country with beers named after the Devil, or called "Sudden Death", one called "Misfortune" (Malheur, in French) is just another wry jest. The beer itself is no joke. On the contrary, it is an inspired beer. Malheur is made in a new, revivalist, brewery.

A citrussy, hoppy blonde ale that reminds me somewhat of American pale ales. Tastes like home! Pours a hazy orange with thin, white, lacy head. Nose of orange zest and fresh hops... although the orange could be all esters, rather than hop aroma. Doesn’t matter, smells good. Flavor starts a bit sweet but folds quickly into a dry, lasting bitterness. Touch of alcohol showing through, but still refreshing. Nice beer. I enjoyed this more than the bigger Malheurs, which run too sweet for me.

Bottle 33cl.
Unclear yellow color with a average, frothy, good lancing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate hoppy, perfume, citrus, grass, moderate yeasty, fruity. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (240508)

Appearance: pale yellow color. Medium head, white, rocky and not very lasting. Aroma: enough hoppy, with herbal and some mentholated and semi-citric. To malts, yeast and bubble-gun. Light hints of chamomile, lemon skin and papaya reminiscences. Flavor: malty start, quickly progress of yeast with earthy and bubble-gum hints. Medium and lasting dry-hoppy, some astringent, with grassy and peel lemon touches. Very slight metallic note. Palate: light to medium body and high carbonation. Remark: mediocre Belgian blond, some light in body. Only the hoppiness is some highlighted.
