Light orange golden colour, white head. Sweet malty aroma, alcoholic, light hoppy. Sweet malty flavour, light honey touches. Finish alcoholic with light lingering hops. Not bad, but not quite as outspoken as I seem to remember it.

33cl bottle. Golden coloured with a large, frothy and white head that quickly diminishes in a thin layer. Aroma is sweet, slightly malty and alcoholic. Flavour is caramelish, syrup hints, very sweet at the beginning and maintained in the aftertaste. also honey traces are present. Carbonation is lively at the beginning, soft in general. Body is medium. Texture is oily.

A: straw/golden body with a thick white head... lots of lacing as to be expected... S: Lemon is the most prominent of the scents I get, and its supported by some yeastyness and a little spice... lacking the fruit one would expect... T: Sweet malts... fruit comes in here with mostly orange and lemon... the pepper is present here as well... not terribly deep... M: Medium bodied, well carbonated, well hidden alcohol at 10% O: The strongest aspect of the beer is that you only know its 10% cause you read it... other wise you’d wonder where that funny drunk feeling was coming from... the taste is devilishly deceiving

Apparently all the new Lebanese supermarkets in Kinshasa are stocking this stuff. How’s that for international? I pour it into a hand-crafted Kasaï chalice I picked up in Kananga: massive head, hard to tell what the body looks like, probably orangey or something. The aroma, that which isn’t overpowered by the wood from the chalice, is sweet alcohol-adjunct with a hint of hops and Belgian sugars. Flavour is strong hops notes which drowns out the alcohol quite well; the mouthfeel is also somewhat watery, surprising for such a strong brew. For a strong beer, it delivers and it tastes all right.

330ml brown bottle. BBD of 25/06/09. Golden pour, lots of floaties and sediment in suspension. Small tightly beaded white head with brown yeast flecks in in. Light lacing. Sweet nose, some hot alcohol, citrusy notes, honey, yeast Flavour has some sweet alcohol up front, honey malt and caramel sweetness, orange peels. Dries out a bit in the finish, grass hop notes, yeasty. Moderate alcohol warming. Big mouthfeel, mouth coating, fairly high carbonation. Reminds me of a tripel at times. Although I’ve not had a fresher bottle, I’d say this aged well. Just don’t store it on its side - the sediment is very heavy.

Cloudy golden body with particles. Bittersweet aroma with lemon, caramel and some hops. Medium body, plenty of carbonation. Very nice spicy bittersweet flavour with some orange. Very nice.

2 years ago i had this beer and it was nice and hoppy, more hoppy than a regular Belgian tripel. However I had this beer from draught two weeks ago and all the sudden I was reminded of Leffe tripel, one of the more sweet Belgian tripels. So I wondered if it was just the draught version, so I ordered a bottle. Slightly better, but still not as how I remembered it. Now it’s just dull, sweet and a lot of alc. Not even a shadow of the former Malheur 10.
