Intenso color biondo con soffice schiuma bianca. Strong ale classica sotto tutti gli aspetti: fruttata e caramellata al naso e al palato, colpisce con note di toffee, frutta candita, luppolo e un tocco lievemente speziato e pungente. Corpo medio, effervescenza discreta, struttura parzialmente vinosa. Classica... ma di carattere!

ClubGonzo (2762) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAY 19, 2013
Bottle. Pours a clear light golden body with a big, foamy white head. Nose is faint pale malts, estery banana tones, bubble gum and general Belgian yeastiness. Taste is sweet banana and bubble gum up front, then a bit of alcohol and dry pale malts with some faint metallic hints. The 10 % is fairly elegantly interwoven, mostly evident in the warming - and subsequent reddening - of my face (as usual... :-P). Medium to full body, medium to high carbonation. Pretty nice, but the Malheur 10 doesn’t stand out enough for me to categorize it as anything but "just another strong golden Belgian".

StoutHead (250) - DENMARK - MAY 16, 2013
Bottle. Pours clear yellow with a huge white foamy head. Aroma of hops, hay and banana. Taste has notes of fruits - especially citrus, hay, yeast and caramel. Full bodied with a fair bit of alcohol in the aftertaste. A bit sour but mostly dominated by the dry bitter hoppy aftertaste. Not bad, but nothing special either.

Draught@Backdoor Café, Gent, pre-ZBF. - Smooth, cultured, finely filtered honey sugar into more Belgian than Belgian smooth triple taste. Mild spiced hops. Obviously well done, but heavy and filling: try having anything else interesting after a presupposing beer and traditional ester bomb like this.

Scopey (3380) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 20, 2013
Tap at Gollem, Antwerp. It pours clear golden yellow with a medium white head. The nose is honey, metal, dough, light herbal notes. The taste is smooth, honey, hay, grain, grass, light dough, pithy citrus and spice with a dry, lightly bitter finish. Full body, fine carbonation and viscous mouth-feel. Hides alcohol well. Not a whole lot going on, but surprisingly drinkable.

Bottle @ delirium.

A little too sweet for my tastes, but the beginning of the taste is very well balanced. Some honey, grass, and citrusiness. Pours golden with large head.

1 van de beste Belgische bieren momenteel. Heel mooie kleur, een volle zoete kruidige smaak. Drinkt heel makkelijk, dus opgepast na enkele bieren.

Bottle@home. Yellow clear. One finger foam. Orange and other yellow fruity notes. Bitter almonds. Quite spicy. Dry with a slight sweet finish. The almonds turn me off.
