3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 txspartan (601) - Wilrijk, BELGIUM - MAR 22, 2011
Very nice golden strong ale. Something that I would not mind drinking more regularly.

Bottle, 33cl. Pours a murky, golden colour with a magnificent offwhite Belgian head and some never-failing-to-delight visual sediment. Aroma is nice, sweet and earthy, previewing the complex nature of the brew. Nice, heavy body, high sweetness and medium bitterness, lots of fruitiness. Alcohol finish which isn’t too great, again not too bitter.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 crossovert (2527) - Wisconsin, USA - MAR 6, 2011
11.2 oz.
Pours into my Duvel tulip a nice peachy gold that is slightly hazy. The head is massive, white, and rocky and rises far over the rim.
Smell is typical of the style, fruity, slightly malty, no sign of hops. There is a hint of spice I can’t pinpoint. The yeast contributes some twang as well.
It is a sweet one that is for sure. Just tons and tons of malt barrage the tongue. The alcohol is hot as well. There is some definite fruitiness in there with some spice, a good overall base flavor.
The mouthfeel is thick but cloying. It isn’t the most drinkable brew.
Overall it is decent but not an exemplary version of the style.

Aroma speziato con note luppolate, al palato è complessa ma equilibrata. Ottima ale anche se il finale non è entusiasmante....

hazy gold, good carbonation, thin white head. Aroma is spicy yeast. Flavor is slight nectar moving into a phenolic/hop bitterness fusion that is slightly harsh for the style. Good, but not the "liquid sunshine" that one of my coworkers described it as.

A: The beer pours a clear golden-straw color with a fluffy white head.
S: Smells of spices, particularly coriander and clove, with a big bready malt aroma. There are some light fruits such as pears and apples, and a sweet candi sugar character. Perhaps some mild floral hops and lemon zest.
T: The flavor has a lot of similarities to a witbier. Seems to have a similar orange peel and coriander flavor, but certainly sweeter. Pale candi sugar along with some banana, alcohol, and bread.
M: The body is medium with a moderate to high level of carbonation.
D: As it warms, the booze starts to come out a bit more, but this is still a fine enough beer.
