A beautiful orange color which glows in the glass, topped by a foamy, uncontrollable head with ample lacing. Aromas are a bit cidery, with apple, herb, pepper, and hay. Rich on the palate, as advertised, with an aggressive profile of drying alcohol, pungent hops and rhubarb behind tight carbonation. A good example of the style, very strong, but with delicate touches that show craftsmanship.

I could hardly get the cork out of this thing and when i did, this thing gave me a lot of head. LOL. Poured out a golden color with all grades of stuff floating around. looks pretty disgusting. flavor was actually rather pleasant, but as it warm the alcohol showed its ugly face. Over all not a bad beer at all.

UPDATED: AUG 12, 2006 Bottle: The body is hazy and pale orange with a medium sized white head, leaves nice lacings. Aroma of yeast, spices, orange and notes of apricot. The flavour is rather sweet with hops and coreander and some fruit. Medium to full bodied. Warm alcohol and hoppy, bitter finish. It’s very enjoyable.

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2007 Pours a pyrimidal white head on top of a slightly hazy blonde body. The head seems to take the exact reverse shape of the glass, I’ve not seen that before, strange. Hops appear first in the nose, followed by untamed alcohol, peaches and pears, juniper, bready malts( I keep noticing this in Malheur beers ). Flavor is hoppier still, and while the hops are on the mellow, pleasing side, they seem to linger throughout the taste. Other flavors noted are lemonade, molasses and honey, along with more soft citrus fruits. Palate is medium bodied, warming and luxurious. Finish fades ever so slowly until all I can taste is alcohol and resiny hop oils. Quite delicious, quite different, glad to have tried this one.

Cloudy orange in color, thick, coarse eggshell colored head. Candy, spice aroma. Very fruity and acidic in the taste....the finish was very powerful, lots of alcohol in the back of the palate....not bad, but the taste needed something more.

750 ML bottle: Medium gold w/a lasting white head. Aroma at first is very corkish. Beyond that, grainy malt, floral, and spicy, peppery yeast. Very delicate plummy and dried apricot esters. Still has a decently strong wood cork aroma as it warms, but it’s not over powering. Well balanced flavor. Spicy peppery yeast, grainy malt, floral esters from alcohol, and a very light plum fruitiness. Finish is semi dry with a pleasant earthy hop aftertaste that lingers with the grainy malt. Lighter body, probably due to the very high level of carbonation. Very explosive m/f, smooth, and well hidden alcohol. A good beer, but a bit lacking in complexity for a 10% ABV beer. The hop flavors sort of take over the aftertaste and become a bit herbal and grassy, and I prefer fruity and malty. A good beer for me, but not a great one on my personal palate.

750 ml. Belgian bottle. Corked & caged. Best before 01/18/09. Poured out a hazy, straw yellow color, with a huge white head. The head is meringue like, stiff & fluffy. Aromas are of acidic malt, cherries, spices. Flavors are of spices, cherries, lactic acid, slight Brett qualities also. Medium body & mouthfeel. Spicy, tangy finish to it. Decent beer overall, but a little too lemony for my tastes.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2010 Golden coloured. Nice big white head that holds nice. Hoppy spiced aroma. Sour-fruity, not bad. Sweet fruity taste, moderated and goes slightly to a bitter middle-taste, to finish pretty soft. Good balanced.
