Sample at tasting. Pours hazy gold with a frothy white head. Nose is dry, spicy and slightly funky. Flavour is very similar with notes of caramel, spicy yeast, candy sugar and grain. Light, dry mouthfeel with high carbonation and a dry, spicy finish that lingers. Alcohol (and sweetness) very well integrated, this is a well made, intriguing, traditional Belgian Strong Ale.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2010 Golden coloured. Nice big white head that holds nice. Hoppy spiced aroma. Sour-fruity, not bad. Sweet fruity taste, moderated and goes slightly to a bitter middle-taste, to finish pretty soft. Good balanced.

Valt me niet mee

Bottle, 33cl. Pours a murky, golden colour with a magnificent offwhite Belgian head and some never-failing-to-delight visual sediment. Aroma is nice, sweet and earthy, previewing the complex nature of the brew. Nice, heavy body, high sweetness and medium bitterness, lots of fruitiness. Alcohol finish which isn’t too great, again not too bitter.

Bottle at Oluthuone Kaisla, Helsinki, 18/03/2011. Hazy yellow colour, thin white head. Fruity sweet, spicy, slightly sour aroma. The flavour is honey-sweet malty, fruity, with a mildly spicy, hoppy finish. Medium-bodied, moderately carbonated. Quite tasty, but too sweet and simple to be really memorable.

Golden color with a white head. Very sweet, honey aroma. Like a sweet spiced tripel.

A: straw/golden body with a thick white head... lots of lacing as to be expected... S: Lemon is the most prominent of the scents I get, and its supported by some yeastyness and a little spice... lacking the fruit one would expect... T: Sweet malts... fruit comes in here with mostly orange and lemon... the pepper is present here as well... not terribly deep... M: Medium bodied, well carbonated, well hidden alcohol at 10% O: The strongest aspect of the beer is that you only know its 10% cause you read it... other wise you’d wonder where that funny drunk feeling was coming from... the taste is devilishly deceiving
