4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 KyotoLefty (3480) - Kyoto, JAPAN - DEC 23, 2009
75 cl bottle. Bright, golden color. Strange funky aroma with concord grape and other fruits. Very unique. Concord or muscat flavor, with spices. Sweet, with nice hop flavor but low bitterness but nice dryness. Really interesting--one of the most unique beers I’ve tried lately. Love it.

Bottle. Golden body with medium head. Sweet aroma... with a flavor of the same... not boring like some Triple’s... hints of honey and grape with warming alcohol power that is well balanced

First try at Hope & Olive in Greenfield MA. Didnt know anything about it other than it was a Belgian Ale. The staff didnt have a clue, but what a treat it turned out to be! Almost like a more zesty cousin of La Fin Du Monde, or an extra spicy relative of Duvel. They now carry this at Ryan & Caseys. Grab one now.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 FreshHawk (596) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - APR 19, 2010
Bottle.
A - Cloudy honey golden orange color with a huge creamy, thick, foamy white head with great retention with a thick lacing left.
S - A good amount of floral and lemony citrus aromas jump out supported by a nice background of spices, grasses, and fruit (peach, apricot, apple, etc.)
T - Sweet malt taste provides the base. Good amount of fruit, similar to the nose, and a touch of honey taste along with some typical Belgian spices and yeast. Citrus and grassy flavors come out a bit more at the end. A touch of bitterness, but more zesty flavors interact with the base sweetness.
M - Medium body with slightly above average carbonation. Slightly drying and fairly creamy.
D - Very drinkable beer. Well balanced taste with some sweetness but also a bit of zesty bitterness. Alcohol is very well hidden. Easy to drink a number of these in a night (except for the ABV).
Notes: A nice BSPA, not quite at the level of say Duvel, but a good solid example. Well balanced with some tripel and saison flavors (not as many as other complex BSPA). A tasty easy to drink beer. Definitely recommend trying this if you can find it. May not blow you away but it is solid, tasty, and will disappear faster than you may hope.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 caralkaline87 (386) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 10, 2010
*Note: I got an old bottle (2 1/2 years)* Pours a dark, murky blonde with tons of floating sediment and a light, foamy white head. Nose is very fruity and sweet with a little belgian yeast, wheat, and coriander in the background. Flavor is similar and very full, with a ton of apples, coriander, and dry hops on the front and a more citrus/bitter hops type finish. Finish is also a bit sticky. This is considered a Belgian Strong but the flavor and appearance is virtually identical to an Abbey Tripel. A little over malted but it definately doesn’t pull any punches on flavor. Good stuff.
