UPDATED: JAN 21, 2007 (Bottled) Very hazy, light orange color with a medium, white, tight and pillowy, lasting and lacy head. Lemony-fruity, crisply-hopped aroma with vanilla hints. Not too sweet, but very malty, slightly acidic, crisply-hoppy flavor with some peppery witbier spiciness, and an extremely fruity, aromatic-hoppy finish. Very smoothly, slightly foamy-carbonated, full-bodied and warming palate with only a hint of alcohol. A highly enjoyable, very full-bodied, very pleasantly hopped, crisp and refreshing brew that hides the ABV excellently. Great fun! [0.75l, "Millennium 2000", bottled 2004, sampled at BBE (01/2007): Same great taste with added moldy-cellary aroma - maybe not quite as fresh, but still very nice. The cork was pretty dried up (broke in two while opening). (Original rating, 7-3-7-4-14=3.5) Lager color, hay golden after the yeast had been poured in. Medium, smooth, small-bubbled head. Hoppy, fruity aroma. Fruity, dry and bitter (hoppy) flavor. Quite carbonated, but balanced and soft. Hardly any alcohol taste. Easily drinkable multi-purpose beer with dangerous ABV. Very nice!

Corked bottle. Pours luscious and vivid cheddar orange, with nice carbonation, active yeast sediment, and a beautiful crowning head of white that leaves a beautiful latticework of lacing around the glass. Aroma is mixture of coriander and orange that leaves a zesty zing along the olfactory path. Nice raisin/honey blend initially on the tongue, followed by a faint floral hops note. Touches of yeast tingle the taste buds. Full, slimy mouthfeel that leaves a lingering note of sourness on the tongue. Definite repeat.

Bottle. Hazy/cloudy gold colour with large white head. Aroma is spicey, orange, honey; taste is honey and hoppy. Alcohol is evident, ’though not overly, in the finish. Quite highly carbonated, medium mouthfeel. Good stuff.

A beautiful orange color which glows in the glass, topped by a foamy, uncontrollable head with ample lacing. Aromas are a bit cidery, with apple, herb, pepper, and hay. Rich on the palate, as advertised, with an aggressive profile of drying alcohol, pungent hops and rhubarb behind tight carbonation. A good example of the style, very strong, but with delicate touches that show craftsmanship.

25 cl bottle, bbe 12th Oct 06. Light amber, moderately hazy (with the sediment poured in), somewhat sparkling, a small and not quite stable head. Sharp hoppy/herbal aroma with some metal and hints of yeast and perfume. Flavour of overbaked bread, alcohol and hops, with some rather peculiar sweetness. Wonderfully develops as it flows over the tongue, hitting its every part, yet in a gentle manner.

small bottle 350ml (?) thaknks to xproudfood. Dark pour with a really large head. Aromas were good. Dark fruits and caramel. Flavors were good too. Much of the same, but with a lot of alcohol flavor. I think maybe a bit too much alocohol in the finish for me. But still pretty darn tasty.

The aroma was earthy peppery and lightly citrusy through the large bubbled moussy head. Pepper and a light tartness led the charge followed by sweetness and spice, light spice, coriander and perhaps cinnamon and clove. The beer poured clear golden with large globulous particulates into the chalice, a bit on the gross side but probably my fault in carrying the bottle. The flavor was nicely done with a sweet start which quickly dried out with pepper and a bit of menthol. The hop bittering was well achieved and even a bit of spicy hop flavor came along for the ride. The finish was just dry with a lasting impression of sweet malt and light spice into the aftertaste and beyond. The body was just above medium and the carbonation level was very high leading to a creamy impression on the palate. The warming post consumption was very high, yet the beer did not exhibit strong alcoholic tendencies in the aroma and flavor. A really nice Belgian Strong Ale! 750 ml corked and bailed bottle. $8.99
