3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 Davros (1024) - Melbourne, - AUG 15, 2010
Pours vibrant pale gold with lively streams of carbonation sustaining an impressive large white head and leaivng lovely lacing.
Nose shows pears, dough Belgian yeast, soft spicy phenols and wheat. Very nice!
Flavours are at first dominated by alcohol and sweet candi sugar. Later on some of the bready malt sticks its head out before fading into a solventy finish.
Carbonation is stupidly high.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 islay (640) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 3, 2012
11.2 oz. bottle, consumed on 6-2-12. Excellent aroma is floral and very sweet but not in a cloying way. Features peach, white grape juice, golden raisin, baked apricot pastry bar, and orange marmalade flavors. Reminiscent in smell of a sauternes or Pedro Jimenez sherry. Pours a hazy, highly effervescent straw/gold color with suspended particulate. Moderate amount of long-lasting, uneven, eggshell-colored head. Produces pretty good although not outstanding lacing. The flavor matches the aroma, for the most part. Fruity, floral taste features candy sugar, a touch of lemon, and dark plum in the savory finish. Sweeter than I normally prefer but pulls it off well. Spicy aftertaste. Medium to heavy body; filling. Frothy and lively in the palate. Overall, Malheur 10 is a surprisingly good beer. It makes a good dessert beer, although I did not consume it as such.
3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 NikkTwist (178) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 21, 2012
Blue bottle. Hazy yellow with a huge pillowy head. Fizzy crackling orange blossom honey. Dry notes of thyme, lemon grass and gunpowder tea. Smooth mix of sweet, spicy and bitter that keeps everything in check. Abv is well hidden. Just sharp enough lingering notes to keep you wanting more.

Bottle at BXL
Really light color, soapy head
Nose seemed sour at first, like a lambic, but taste is clearly a strong tripel. Honey, dry on the first taste then a CRAZY aftertaste, bitter and hoppy.
Aftertaste, nose, and flavor all seemed mellower after that first sip, like I got numb to it.
Not super complex. Strong alcohol.
Light, Buzzy carbonation. Pretty drinkable for a 10% booze-fest. Knocked it down with a goat cheese and honey salad... Perfect.

bottled. a hazy, almost gunky orange with a slim but steady head; aroma of orange syrup with hints of menthol and green pepper; quite a light texture for its abv but with some slightly medicinal alcohol in the finish; still, pleasantly tangy and citric
4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 LordCrabapple (106) - Merseyside, ENGLAND - MAY 4, 2012
Smells like many Belgian strong pale ales, yeasty, bready with nothing in the way of hops. This is deceiving. Tasting it one gets the hops and the nice malt, but it is all very well balanced, with the hops drying out the sweetness, giving it a nice edge. There is certainly sweetness, but it is touched by lightness. There is not a trace of alcohol.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 27, 2012
Cork and caged 75cl bottle, best before 10th Jan 2010, drank 29th Oct 2009.
I have been keeping this for over a year and wasn’t expecting it to gush out as soon as I opened the bottle, luckily I had two glasses ready ( Judas and Hoegaarden Grand Cru tulips).
Out it came, no stopping it, bringing with it all the sediment, it looked like one of those snow shaking bubble things you used to see at the seaside. Bits floating everywhere within a dirty orange fluid. A clean white head sat on top of the whirling snow storm.
I waited for the sediment to settle, it took a long time, because of its high carbonisation the suspended yeast particles refused to sink with any haste.
Plenty of time to sniff in the aroma then! Yeast, hops and a floral smell, sweet citrus fruits (oranges mostly?).
When I did get my lips to it the alcohol was the first thing that I tasted, it is right too the fore and ’in your face’ as some would say. Sweet and sour flavours arrived later.
Too strong for me and I had a terrible headache the following morning, this wasn’t the only beer that night, but I am sure it did the damage.

Ruikt zoet en citrusachtig. Kleur is mistig geel/goud met een forse witte schuimkop. Gist overheerst in de smaak met wat friszuur citrus en tinten van abrikoos.
Aldus Huubs.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Scrapersnbeer (463) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - APR 15, 2012
On the surface, this beer looks like a very heady, active witbier. However, one would be misfortunate to approach it as such. Sweet citrus candy aroma, booze not evident in the nose. Long, sweet flavor and at the end is where one finds the alcohol. Tart and dry as well. Medium body, and sticky as opposed to thick. A yeasty, ester filled sugar bomb that would benefit from a darker malt character, like it’s brother the ’12’.
