UPDATED: AUG 19, 2013 Candy, fruit, and a little funk in the aroma. Flavor starts sweet and smooth, with caramel, toffee, and dark fruit. Hop bitterness and drying alcohol in the finish. Really good.

330 ml. bottle. Pours a pale hazy colour, with a giant head. Ring and lace seems to remain forever. Smell is complex, barnyard, ginger, orange, but there are some other fruits and spices that i really can’t tell what they are. Maybe clove and coriander. It feels strong on the palate, lively carbonation, creamy. Taste is similar to smell, without the barnyard: ginger, apricots, fruits spices... A great one

330cc bottle. Pour pale blond with huge frothy white head. Pine and lemon hops. In the mouth develops nice malts, citrus and candy. Heavily carbonated. Doesn’t feel 10%abv. Light bitterness. Great strong ale.

330ml bottle (Wines of Gallilee, Tallinn)
Pleasant standard perfumey belgian ale aroma. Light grains but quite a waft of alcohol. Waft? I meant kick. Lightish palate, grainwise, and I like the bitter perfumey hops. Finish a bit pencil shavingy. Too hot, definitely. Otherwise had some merit.

Bottle. Pale yellow body, tall head. Aroma has sharp lemony hops. Sweet and dry-hoppy taste with more lemony hops and some green apple peel. Sharp carbonation and a warming alcoholic finish. Looks and feels like Duvel to me. But I don’t really care for Duvel - after a while it always starts to feel like a Sprite with vodka to me.

rdb84 (247) - NETHERLANDS - MAR 13, 2015
Bottle. Murky apple juice color, nice frothy head. Aroma is a refreshing and well balanced blend of pine, lemon/lime, yeast, some soap accents. Big whiff reveals hint of blue cheese. Taste is very distinct (positive). It holds the middle between Duvel (sour) and La Chouffe (sweet). Sour is lemon, sour from blue cheese, hint of cactus. Sweet is honey, hint of dough, some saison yeast. It is quite a heavy drink though.

Metallic aroma. Abundant foam with rather large bubbles. 10 ABV is a dominant feature. Alcohol with a shade of bitterness. Lively carbonation.
