The pour reveals a dark brown color with reddish highlights and a medium tan head. In the nose, the yeast provide a smell of bubble-gum, there’s also burnt caramel, malt and fruits. The flavor also has a bubble-gum feel to it with malt sturdy enough to do an adequate job of camouflaging a good part of the alcohol, there’s also burnt caramel and fruits. The body is medium with a liquorous texture and soft carbonation. This is an enjoyable, potent beer.

Pours dark brown with a foamy tan head that dissipates slowly. Nose of nuts, malt and raisins. Taste of raisins, red grapes, nut, spice, and of course, alcohol. Alcohol is potent on the finish as well. This, like some other very strong dark ales is a bit like drinking carbonated cognac. Interesting. Not a bad aperitif beer.

Pours a deep dark brown with a huge tan foamy head. Aroma of caramel, plums and wheat. Tases of spice, dark fruit , butterscotch, alcohol. Many different aromas and tastes. This is very nice.

This beer pours a deep dark brown with a medium tan head. The aromas are very weak but I get nuts plums and flowers. The flavor is liquorice, dates and a little bit of pepper. This one fell short. Cheers!

250ml bottle perfect accompaniment to wild boar at Den Tatoverede Enke in Copenhagen. Mahogany body with a ruby tint. Beige foamy head. Rich spicy aroma where dried fruits play a part. Powerful flavour of dark berries, coffee malts and spicy hops. Moderate sweetness. Finish off with yeast and warming alcohol. Plenty of body. Great stuff (30.05.2008).
