Bottle pours a muddy dark brown with a tiny light brown head. Sweet malty, fruity scent. Very nice thick taste. Drink slowly as the abv will catch you.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 BückDich (5468) - McCall, Idaho, USA - OCT 2, 2010
Bottle: Pours a dark dark mahogany color with a nice white head. The nose is sweet with spice, raisin, plums, candi sugar, vanilla, rum, molasses. The flavor has a nice mild impact, sweet sappy malts towards the tail of the mouthfeel and a moderate alcohol and spicy burn in the front. Very balanced and smooth but a bit sweet, almost to cover up the high abv. I much prefer some of the other dark strong belgians, this seems to be missing something. Almost like a doppelbock with the clean yeast presence.

Brown sugar and raisin nose. Cloudy brown, thick yellow head, poor retention. Fig with clover flavor. Fairly good hop presence for a belgian. Sweet and bitter, but disjointed. Alcohol noticeable. Good qualities, but lacks gestalt.

What an awesome and healthy head! Unfiltered... with chunks! Light brown head with brown specks sprinkled atop the head. Dark-brown colored body. Light, but great sweet malt aroma is very subtle... This actually smells sticky! Light, smooth flavor. Very light for 12% ABV! Deceiving!!!

Reviewed from notes. Tasted from bottle. Pour is dark amber with a thick, tan head. Nose is burnt brown sugar, yeast, rye toast, molasses, and dates. Flavor is sweet brown sugar, dates, maple, and toasty rye. The body is full with heavy carbonation and a long brown sugar finish.

750ml bottle. deep dark brown under a small tan head. aroma of brown sugar, raisin, caramel, and a bit of tartness. big foamy, heavily carbonated palate. flavor of caramel, brown sugar, and tart muscadine grapes. hints of a mace-like spice and lemon zest. big and bold. nice but the fizzy palate gets rather annoying.
