Dark pour almost like a porter with some deep red colors. Very soft carbonation and small head. Bitter then sweet in the palate, taste of rasin and then a candied molasses after taste. Slight yeast and hoppyness flavor. Great for after dinner. Almost no alcoholic taste even though %12 abv.

33cl Majestic bottle. This reminded me of a pretty sweet quad. The first flavors reminded me of a nice Belgian quad but then finished with some dark, candy sugar. The 12ABV was not noticeable even at room temperature. Maybe a little too sweet for some folks but I liked it.

Bottle in a Palm tulip. Purchase in September - probably an ’09 bottle. Dark pour that looks like brown ale spiked with blood. Lots of suspension. Aroma of dates and currants, chocolate and alcohol. Also undefined hops and yeast. Taste is very sweet yet stingingly bitter. Reacts on the palate like a brandy shot. Not classically Belgian, Malheur’s 12 reminds me ever so slightly of very strong doppels such as Samichlaus and the like. Good after dinner confection.

(330ml bottle thanks to mar) clearish deep amber with head that faded quickly. Nose is rich and decadent, raisins, sweet dripping caramel, mild Belgian spices. Taste of cinnamon, no alcohol presence whatsoever, very impressive given the ABV, caramel, rich brown sugar, light spice component but doesn’t strike me as truly "Belgian" as most do. Carbonation is a bit light, wish it was a bit more dry. Pretty sweet finish but this is welcome for me. Body lacks maybe a little bit, but in general I really liked it and would drink it again.

A cloudy amber brown ale. Ripe fruits, candies, malt, caramel. toffee, herbs and chocolate in nose. Rather sweet taste with a good carbon and full body. Hidden alcohol. Fernet and chocolate on palate. B@H

33cl bottle, tulip glass. Pours a dark reddish-brown with an off-white frothy head (it’s a gusher). Smells of alcohol even from a few feet away, and also heavy malt and yeast. Tastes of sweetened dark berries, and spices with a small hop character. Has a boozy warming finish. Packs a wallop, but very tasty.

Pours hazy dark red colour with medium thick head. Aroma of light hops, ripe fruits, floral notes, belgian yeast, caramel malts, sugar candy, mild spices and some earth. Flavour of sweet caramel malts and toffee, yeast, ripe and a bit sour fruits, some liquorice, mild spices and sugar. Very rich in flavour and quite complex. Alcohol stays well hidden. Excellent brew.

Pour is a cola brown with a nice sized tan head, about two fingers thick depending on rigor of the pour. Nose is of dark fruits and some candi sugar notes as well. Taste is similar to the nose, a very nice mouthfeel, similar to that of a quad.
