bottle in a pint glass - first pours clear and deep amber, but turns opaque with sediment. Nice beige head with moderate lacing. Nose is old-time-y fruit, malts and yeast. Surprisingly, no alcohol smell. Aroma is fairly straight-forward: fruit, malts and yeast, ending with a light hoppy quality. Taste is sweet. Great beer!

Mmmmm, dangerous beer. Poured right out of the fridge, so too cold, but with a smallish tan head that slowly settles and no lace. Color is a cloudy amber brown. Aroma is lots of dark, ripe fruits, candies, malt, toffee, caramel. fruit, loam. Flavor’s a lot like nose, but with big sweetness tempered by good carbonic tang. Very well balanced as they say. Very little alcohol in the finish which is like flavor and of average length. Great, easy drinking, powerful brew.

Donkerbruin bier met cremekleurige kraag. Vol en rond in de mond. Smaak zoet, overrijp fruit. Goed bier maar duidelijk minder dan de rochefort 10 (wat mij betreft het referentiepunt voor een goeie quadrupel)

Bottle at Le Poechenekelder (spelling?) in Brussels. It poured a dark hazy amber liquid with a light beige head. Caramelly malty smell. Similar taste, some burned toast, chocolate and dark bread. Fairly smooth mouthfeel. A nice and enjoyable beer, but it feels like it lacks that extra special something.
