3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at Rootz. Pours hazy brown with a small tan head. Aroma of overripe dark fruit, caramel, raisins. Flavor is over moderate sweet and light bitter. Medium to full bodied with disturbingly hug carbobation.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bit weird vinegary first kick on nose, but its gone before second sniff. Very lovely brew. Bold, same time subtle. Strong malty background, awesome dried fruit implementation, some hops for balance. Mostly sweet with light bitterness. Well balanced and enjoyable. Feels bit like little cousin of westy and rochefort in a good way.

On tap at Popeye in Tokyo. Served in a stemmed tulip. No head upon serving. Rusty amber color with strong muscat aroma. Alcohol forward beer with a thin, watery texture on the tongue. Grape flavor really jumped out after coming to room temperature. Awesome, awesome Belgian.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Colour: Between copper red and brown. Big, fizzy head.
Nose: yeast, apple syrup, forest fruits, caramel, coffee.
Flavours: Caramel maltiness, herbs, butterscotch, alcoholic.
Finish: long, sweet, alcoholic.
Verdict: Well made beer, but the high alc. content is a bit too apparent.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma is a bit hoppy, malty and floral notes. Appearance is jet black with a thin tan head and tight carbonation. Taste is a bit flat for me, but is mostly malt and dark fruit. Palate is medium creamy, with a bit bitter and dry aftertaste. A bit spicy and boozy warm, although not bad considering its 12%. Overall decent ale, but flavors not as bold as the best in class.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Chestnut brown body, tall diminsihing head. Aroma has sweet caramel, some nuts and not much else. Sweet caramelly taste with nuts, figs and ceylon tea. Plenty of booze in the finish. Sweet and caramelly booze fest without anything exciting, resembles another overrated classic La Trappe Quadrupel. Not my kind of beer. Ironic name.
