Bottle 330ml at Plonk, Canberra. Masterpiece. Aromas of caramel, nuts, biscuit, and a hint of butter; alcohol is well hidden. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness, and long length. Palate is sticky, and full bodied. Brown, with a frothy head.

Delicious. I love the fruit and sweetness on the nose. Rich and complex in character. Caramel toasted notes.

Had this at the beer dinner at Steak 954. It was an impeccable beer. Malty with a hint of hops. Right down my flavor lane.

The first thing that struck me with this surprise purchase is how incredibly smooth it is -- in what other Belgian do you find 12 ABV cloaked this elegantly? Dark, secretive, mesmerizingly fragrant and moreish: A perennial favorite.

UPDATED: OCT 12, 2008 25 cL bottle. Pours deep brown/black with light brown head. Aroma is fruity (plum and raisins), hops, coffee and malt. Taste has the same in a wineous blend - and what a perfect blend! Fruit, coffee and wineous are the keynotes that I would put to this beer. I have a new favourite!

Bottle conditioned, very dark with a good head, sweet malt aroma, very sweet malt, fruit and toffee taste, the high alcohol is not apparent at first but lingers after you swallow.
4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 erickok (2292) - Tours, FRANCE - FEB 6, 2011
UPDATED: FEB 19, 2012 Bold, brown body, solid tan head. Nice caramel, pear, wood, leaves. Delicious fatty, sweet flavour revealing even more complexities, such as spices and pine. Well balanced carbonation/alcohol backup. Reminds me of a Westvleteren 12 albeit not as smooth. Amazing beer that shows it?s hops and malts in heaps. (7,95 EUR, 75cl bottle)

Full roasty and long taste, with a very different palet from the first swig till the last drop. Nice one, with long lasting white head.
